This exactly what's wrong with boxing fans... a fighter loses or gets knocked down he's overrated... **** that ****. He just got beat here!

Vic Darchinyan, undisputed Super Flyweight Champion of the world.

    Congrats, Vic.

And if all the 'overrating' was really bad enough to make you post this thread, then I'm glad I didn't read it in the first place (Though I consider him pretty talented, I've just never been interested in Mijares - but I've checked out a couple of his fights after reading this forum, and seeing people call him like, one of the top pound for pound fighters).

In fairness he was being outboxed by a guy who everyone had been writing off. Its more the fans that get exposed, not the fighter, cause they do the hyping.

Yeah, but the shadow of Donaire is looming large over him. Remember the KO in 6th?

Boom_Boom, I think whether he was overrated or not depends on your point of view BEFORE the fight. This thread initially annoyed me. But after thinking back a little more carefully, I start to recall that there are plenty of people on this forum that rated Mijares VERY highly. I've seen him as pretty good, word class, but not as good as some people on here. Sorry I reacted to angrily to your post, but after seeing a post in this thread mentioning some of the people that rated him too highly, and that sparking my memory of some of the ridiculous **** I HAVE read about him here - I see exactly where you are coming from.

But theres always some of that with fighters around his level of popularity, or maybe just with less popular weight classes. I always thought it was weird that in threads about people like Christian Mijares... or maybe Joan Guzman.. some people have only seen maybe one fight, and aren't too familiar.. but others are already on the 'future p4p number one!' bandwagon.

I had a bad feeling when Mijares came out so cocky and arrogant. He never had his head in the game and fault an awful fight, ****ing dreadful. Vic was great though, congratulation to him.

very unexpected. i thought mijares was going to let his hands fly against vic. just goes to show that having the "better skillset" does'nt make you the "better fighter". i'm a mijares fan and hope he can regroup. darchinyan-donaire II within the next year pls.

    You learned your lesson now?

We posted here because the fight WAS over. We saw it - you didn't. Mijares balloon had burst and only his most derailed fans couldn't see it.

you're a stong man to apologize especially for the trash here in ESB, I take back everything said about you.

The fight was truly shocking, I felt there was absolutely no way Vic had any chance of winning except for cuts, DQ or a big time robbery. I guess thats why we continue to watch this sport, expect the unexpecting.

That was Vic's fault, he opened himself up for that one.
