Great ? Tim was just a guy with alot of reach with a powerful righthand and scored a few very good KOs with it. However we seen Couture nearly knock him out with the same right hand and Couture has never dropped anyone else that I can think of,Arlovski dropped him twice with it and of course Fedor nearly killed him with punches. Arlovski and Fedor couldve finished by KO but Tim gave the submissions to them.

He has power doesnt make him a high class boxer. If you listen to Joe Rogan they will also tell you Matt Hughes is a good striker hell he thinks Ken Shamrock is.

I don't think I've ever heard Rogan compliment Hughes striking skills, maybe made a comment about improvement or something

Fedor submitted Sylvia because he couldnt knock him out.

But yeah, I never thought of Sylvia as a great MMA striker, just better than alot of the fighters he fought. He's a very simple fighter who actually was able to give some fighters problems because of his length, reach but thats about it. He did outstrike Noguiera though.

Tim Sylvia was never considered a great striker. A descent one yes, great one no.

Fedor wouldve KOed Sylvia if he had continued to try believe that. Sylvia had a nice basic boxing style you know a decent jab and a decent 1-2 which along with his height where good enough to defeat some pretty damn good fighters but thats MMA style boxing they only focus on the boxing basics. He did outstrike Nog but I feel his "dominance" is overatted by several. Besides the KD in round 1 the striking was fairly even especially after Nog figured out the reach somewhat although he cleary wanted the fight to go to the ground. Nogs striking is bad right now but its not nearly the level it was years ago his reflexes where much sharper.

Ray Mercer lost to kimbo in mma it proves he isnt a good MMA fighter.

Ray Mercer has fought at the highest level in boxing so he is always going to KO Sylvia in a boxing fight, Sylvia had n business being in the ring with Mercer... everyone knew that fight was a boxing match disguised as a mma fight.

You mean the same Tim Slyvia that took Couture life and death?

Yeah, MMA fans forgot about him...

Even though he was one of the greatest UFC heavyweights of all time.
