Futch apparently told Steward years after the fact when there was nothing to hide. Futch would hardly come out and say he thought Lewis would beat Bowe when things were still relevant, of course he'd back his fighter. Words certainly didn't culminate in a meeting tho.

Bowe avoided big punchers like no tommorow, no Frank Bruno, Tommy Morrison, no Lennox Lewis, no Mike Tyson from 1988-1991. Was probably for a good reason, he would have been gollataad way earlier.

Like I said, producing those articles would be nice.

Emanue Steward - I was with Eddie Futch one day and he, and his wife, and I were together in Las Vegas just sitting at a little coffee shop. I asked him about the Riddick Bowe fight when he threw away the belt rather than fight Lennox. He said, “Emanuel that was my doing. It was my decision because what happened in the ’88 Olympics, I always felt if they fought professionally it would have been the same thing. Even though Bowe was good, Lennox was always such a physically strong and mentally strong big kid, that eventually he would have still overpowered Bowe again because he was just that type of a rough guy”.

If he had ever fought Riddick Bowe as a professional, even before Bowe had liked slipped and lost his talent and his skills, Lennox would have hurt Riddick Bowe I think very seriously, because he a real hatred for Riddick Bowe. So I’m glad that’s a fight that I never saw.

Cool. It would be nice to see this article even tho as i said Futch would hardly say other at a time when both still could have met in the ring.

But yeah, keen to see it regardless.

So Futch had already passed away when Steward said this?

    He was long gone.

Let me guess, you are about to try and claim Steward is lying LOL

Emanual Steward tends to be orgasmic towards his fighters. He talks a lot of smack about Tyson and i won't put it past him to be making stories up about Futch and Bowe.

Well that stance would certainly suit your particular agendas. You certainly wouldn't be orgasmic toward Tyson and hateful toward Lewis would you now.

Actually i have a huge collection of Steward comments per Tyson, might post them up and make a poll to see how balanced the ESB peers judge them to be. Many of them ring true to me personally.

If it makes no sense, then why no hitters on that resume? Guys like Bruno/Lewis/Morrison/Tyson/Ruddock/etc were all beatable.
Why do you think the guy was fighting power hitters like Donald. Washed up Dokes. Ferguson. Mathis jr. Evander is hardly that big of a hitter at heavy. Golata has to string together a million combos to get any decent fighter out of there.

Always look closely at the opponents selected and the opponents not fought with any fighter. And it is not a coincidence he didn't go into the lions den and fight anyone from DKP. Or how many fights did Bowe take his act on the road as a road warrior?

I hope it has because you calling bojak a hater because of valid and extremely insightful posts is quite frankly pathetic. He offers great posts and banter on any variety of fighters and weights while you just run around whining and crying about all the supposed Tyson injustice.

You are a Tyson nuhugger of immense proportions. Now i see you running around claiming Douglas would have been happy to have had the fight called off etc etc. Talk about f'n delusional.

Go and make your own forum where anyone that takes their head out of Tyson's arse get banned.

True. At the end of the day Riddick Bowe has to live with it himself. He took the easy way st the time and of course there are many ways to rationalize things st the time.
Riddick Bowe cheated himself as much as he cheated boxing.
