looking at these 2 body sanction rankings

its very likely the winner of this fight will face Barrera if he beats Khan

there had to have been a Super Champion because Baby Bull unified the IBF/WBA/WBO then lost them to Campbell. It should have been Campbell.

I know there was confusion because of the WBA stripping and then giving the belt back to Nate then he does not make weight etc. What a damn mess LOL.

Either way I follow the Ring Magazine belt anyway.

    Incorrect I'm afraid Mr Thunder.

Campbell was the super champion, on the back of having unified the IBF & WBO titles - well, having beaten Juan Diaz who unified them and became super champion, thus he took Juan's super champion status with the WBA.

However, this title was vacated prior to the Funeka fight, for whatever reason I don't know. Moses fought Kobori for the regular WBA title not interim, given that Kobori himself hold the WBA title when Campbell was the super-champion.

Campbell vacated the WBA even before not making weight because he had a mando due(I think) was the reason. He went into the Funeka fight with just the IBF and WBO.

    its usually not that complicated.

You initially have one WBA champ. If he unifies with another sanctioning body then the champ becomes super champion and is exempt of all mandatories. Then the other contenders in the WBA rankings are fighting for the regular title. The interim champ is like a mandatory challenger. He has won an eliminator for the interim title. The difference between an interim champ and a mandatory challenger is that if the champion ducks his title defence, instead of becoming vacant the regular title goes to the interim champ right away.

This whole business of Marquez and Diaz fighting for the WBA super title while neither is WBA champ before the fight is surely a first.

As for Campbell being stripped of his WBA champ status for not taking on a mandatory, that rediculous. I don't think Nate was ever super champion

yeah the WBA tried to give him the belt back but then he did not make weight so it did not matter anyway. What a mess this is with these damn belts. :patsch

I don't blame you. I think Moses was only the interim champion before aswell. Confusing as ****.

But like onepunch said, you have to have more than one of the WBO/IBF/WBC belts to be the WBA super champion, so given that the winner of Marquez-Diaz receives only the WBO belt, how the **** did they come up with this?
