People actually saw Makabu fight and get a gift against Mchunu and realized it was a belt-grabbing scam. I'm actually excited about this move from Canelo; not for the fights themselves (he KOs GGG now, and Bivol isn't mean enough to beat Canelo IMO, but he IS very skilled so who knows could surprise me) but because if this means he's campaigning at light heavyweight, then that increases the likelihood of a Beterbiev fight, and I think that just has fun fireworks written all over it.
bivol one of the toughest guys canelo could pick. well, it's pretty logical actually. bivol can't ko nelo and we all know judges won't let him loose. at least dmitrij will get paid nicely I hope.
He would be fighting GGG right after and that will be at 168. So its more likely Canelo will fight Bivol at a catch weight rather than go to 175 and back to 168 then to 175 for Beterbiev.
You are that kid in school that never had the balls to compete in anything but then sat back and criticized everyone who did
Even if Canelo loses a 3rd fight with GGG would hold water. And the narrative is also easier IF he were to lose at 175 agaisnt Bivol (or 168 as Bivol was willing to come down in weight)
Bivol is a legit threat. I'll believe it when I see em on the ring. Here's hoping it's more than rumor/posturing.
Maybe but I think Plant exposed Canelo`s power v bigger fighters to some extent, he took several hooks without blinking until Canelo put everything into the final decisive shot that dropped him, he also struggled to get to Plant because of the way he could exploit his reach and size, Bivol will make things very interesting, I think Canelo will give away the early rounds but is very good at setting traps.
If these are both on PPV then they better do something about their production value, and commentating team.
Good on Canelo for wanting Bivol but why isn't Beterbiev in the equation? It's pointless to have a rematch GGG at this point. If anything I'm more interested in GGG vs Charlo first, and then the winner of that fight can take on Canelo.
