For the hundredth time, I am not defending or supporting his crimes, I am simply stating that while he has committed serious crimes, he has served his time, the media mis-reported many of the facts, and this all happened a decade ago, his criminal record has been clean since.

You will not find one post where I have said that what he did was in any way okay, I am just stating that some of the claims that have been made about him are untrue/exaggerated.

I started supporting Larsen before I found out about his crimes and while I was shocked and disappointed, I have not heard enough to stop supporting him, he is not the scum of the earth nor should anyone on here be wishing harm on him.

 

WTF? He got a 13-year-old boy to give him a blow job. The guy could be the second coming of SRR for all I care, but there is no way in hell I'm going to support him as a boxer after that, and I find it very questionable that you do.

 

Exactly, enough time has elapsed since Larsen was punished of his crimes to say that he is not a dangerous or an evil man. He is now married and concentrated fully on his boxing career.

 

You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that, my response would be that it happened many years ago and he has already been punished.

If Larsen had just come out of jail my reaction would probably be different.

Plus there is a middle ground between supporting a fighter and wishing serious harm on them. You could just say that you want him to lose, that would be far more reasonable.

In Larsens defense I haven't found anything about his criminal past online, all i can find are these baseless accusations about him here on ESB.

Ok well give me actual proof that Larsen did what people on here say he did, because I can't find anything to back it up. Yes they are baseless in a sense because most people are just saying what they've heard here on ESB, they haven't actually looked into the matter themselves.

 

I'm just defending his right to box and I feel the hatred towards him on here is over the top. Nothing more than that, I don't know him personally so I see no reason to get angry towards him.

 

Scandanvian posters have provided links to news stories written in Norwegian about his crime. It's a fact. Even his biggest fan-boy zxcvbnm doesn't deny it.

 

There doesn't appear to be a reliable source about this incident. There was a newspaper article about his crimes, but that newspaper later apologised to Larsen for mis-representing the facts.

My opinion on this is that he clearly did something wrong, which was exaggerated by the media, he was convicted, served his time in jail and is now out and has stayed clear of crime for the best part of a decade, therefore I don't feel that the abuse of him on here is justified, though I can obviously understand why people on here hate him. People on here seem to think I support his crimes etc which is just ludicrous, I'm just calling for some perspective.

 

I've never denied it, but people should note that the news outlets that published these stories later apologised to Larsen for misrepresentation and exaggeration of what he did.

 

he also played in the NFL , and i cant find a picture of him with his uniform or or in action or just on the sideline. basically meaning Larsen is a name on this board, but is joe nobody in the sports world and celebrity world and youre not gonna find info like that on him if it has only been recorded in the legal world and not posted all over new sites everywhere every day as if it were mike tyson
there have been a few people on here that you can pretty much take them at their word because of some of the info they have posted. I dont believe everything i read on these boards but sometimes its credible.
