    Price should retire.

I have to say : "Well done for still being good enough to batter Dave Allen !" ....
.... but the very fact that we feel compelled to say that tells us everything we need to know.

If Price is looking for a big payday and they throw him in with a puncher, it's going to be a horrible end.

It’s sad because Price actually believes he can beat anyone again.

He’s just a prizefighter now, calling out Usyk! Saying he would take the Povetkin rematch?! He’s getting old and just wants a big lump of money to cash out with regardless of his health.

He was emotional and frustrated about the amount of abuse. He gets dogs abuse from all angles, so I'm happy for him to vent.

He was the underdog against Allen which I can imagine was a sore point for price.

As someone else said in another thread, Price is in a strange place. Too good for British level but not quite good for European level which puts him and a lose lose situation.

I'm pleased he picked up the win and hopefully a decent payday

To be fair to pricey its not that he deserves the abuse, but when you get nocked out like he does you will get abuse ,same with amir khan.
Thedifference is price seems like a nice guy so.maybe he doesn't deserve it.
Anyway if the abuse helped motivate him i don't think we should stop,

When he said that his kids were starting to get abuse at school the penny dropped for me. Easy for us all to call boxers puddings on an anonymous forum which tbf is pretty pathetic when you think about it, but when you think about how his kids are getting stick that’s not right.

People on this board are genuinely pathetic , give the big man dogs abuse and when he gives a bit back they cannot handle it .

Give the guy credit for winning a fight most people thought he would lose

I couldn't agree more and I can guarantee that 99% of the negative shithouses on this forum would dump a load in their pants if Pricey was to all of a sudden tap them on the shoulder while typing their baseless negativity, and I say baseless as I doubt hardly any of these ****ers has even had a playground scrap, let alone set foot in a ring.

Boxing is easy when the other bloke refuses to throw a punch at you.

    Yeah very fair Mr J,

I'm not a fan of Price, it's clear to see, I haven't beeen since the vey beginning of his career, so at least I'm consistent LOL

I will quite happily and with no sarcasm say "well done, congratulations" to Price, he was an underdog and has taken a lot of abuse over the years and he proved people wrong, so I understand his release of frustration and anger.

But I'm not going to just go along with his delusion about now having some claim now to "big money" and all the rubbish he was talking.

Price needs to understand that he is still going to be the "opponent", he isn't backed financially, he isn't in a promotional contract with Matchroom, he is a free agent and he needs to understand Little, Ali and Allen isn't a run of great wins, they are just wins.

Only one of those three fights was a good performance, last nights, the other two fights were awful.

As for his future opponents, Chisora is a good fight, although Chisora makes it clear he wants paying large so I don't see how it is working financially if Price also wants paying large.

Parker is interesting although I think Price will want that "big money" so I can't see that happening.

Hughes Fury is really interesting, not sure Price would want it though, that doesn't scream excitement, a filled arena and this is the problem.. Price believes he is now in the big leagues because Hearn and others were saying Allen was two wins away from something big.

Price is basically going to price himself out. Nothing he can do right now ( if he is adamant that he wants big money) can really generate him big money.

But I can sort of understand why Price thinks he has jumped the que, but what Price needs to understand is the public support for Allen, he is what you'd call a cult figure, people know Allen isn't a top heavyweight but have bought in to the story because he is humble, down to earth, takes the pee out of himself and openly talks about his problems and flaws.. he is "one of them"

That's why Allen was getting attention, money and love, Price had his chances and many of them times he has failed, he didn't connect with the British Boxing fans and still hasn't really, so he just needs to be realistic.

The problem for Price is he can beat the likes of Tom Little, Kash Ali and David Allen, but beyond that who is there he can fight that a) won't result in him just getting sparked out again? And b) that people would actually be intersted in?

Talking about big fights and big paydays is just deluded.

Oh I agree, that's what we have now, that's boxing now, it's digital hits and ticket selling first and on a higher scale PPV sales and talent and ability is second.

Nobody with two brain cells believed Allen was any kind of heavyweight force, Allen is a cult figure, he has connected with Boxing fans, he has a personality that people warm to, so Boxing fans bought in to the story, Allen was "one of them", somebody they would have a drink with.

Price hasn't connected with many fans, he is seen as an object of ridicule, that goes back to his early career and how he was promoted.

Lots of hype, lots of claims and boasts, they said Price would be the man to end The Klitschko domination, British Boxing fans who saw him as an amateur knew that was rubbish, people also knew about his vulnerability and knew it was never going to happen.

So when Price did start getting regular beatings people did say "I told you so" and gave Price the same abuse they gave Audley Harrison.

Actually if you look at their career Harrison had a far better one than Price has had to date.. Harrison won more titles, Harrison won British, Commonwealth and European and fought for a world title.

So if Harrison is the object of ridicule then surely Price can't complain if he is?

Price had a decent win and decent performance last night, but let's also be realistic, Allen was absolutely terrible, seriously terrible, a walking punchbag and Price needs to be realistic where that puts him and what he is worth.

Yeah no doubt. I throw terms like pudding around largely for the comedic factor and because this is an anonymous forum where half the people troll anyway.

I’m pretty sure everyone here knows that David Price could approach us when we are on a date with our Mrs, throw a cheesecake in our face and throw wine over the Mrs and no one would do **** about it.

On this forum it’s all fun and games but deep down I think almost everyone here on the British section at least which is full of sound guys appreciates and respects what these guys do in the ring.
