Just watched his fight with Vitali, what the f*** kept him on his feet?! he was knackered beyond belief and taking big shot after big shot.

What a warrior! (props to Vitali also)

Sanders was a pretty good fighter for a golfer, lol.

Seriously though, underrated, really quick, died a hero.

Vitali doesn't have that one punch power to spark people out, he beats the living **** out of you until you lose your will to keep going.

Needless to say, Sanders was a wilful man.

It's pretty crazy that Nate Tubbs (sort of) did to Sanders what Sanders did to Klitschko. Brought in someone to look good and got sparked. Crazy looking at that fight knowing the bombs he took from Klitschko.

Sanders is a big what if guy for me. When he beat Wlad it was a year before he fought again, already at 37. Then after Vitali he was super inactive again. Even after that loss he could have been a contender ala Tony Thompson is now, but like I said earlier I think he was really into golf and trying to make the European Tour.

Sanders got beat by glass jawed Rahman . Sanders was a part time half ass fighter. You guys try to hype him because he exposed Wlad's weak chin and skin. He came close to stopping Vitali. The fact that a part time fighter was able to stop Wlad and give Vitali a hard fight just shows how overrated the Klitschkos are. Sanders never beat anyone outside of Wlad. I still remember Sanders saying he was shocked by how easy Wlad was to knockdown.

it forced wlad to redefine how he fought and I have total respect for someone who has the mental resolve to come back from that loss - it was one of those fights that can easily destroy a fighters career

but saying the klitschkos are underrated because he 'almost' beat vitali doesn't wash. many HOF fighters suffer knockdowns or 'moments' where they could have lost a fight but didn't.

hell, tito trindad made a career out of getting knocked down early in fights!

Corrie Sanders beat a guy who hasn't lost in 9.5 years and is considered the overall number 1 fighter in the game. I would say his name but it seems people like to spew venom at it.

I don't think anyone here was saying Sanders is an ATG, but he beat one.

Don't take Derrick seriously. He hates the Klitschko's and tries to belittle every one of their opponents while he picks all of them to beat them before the fight.

Sanders was a hot/cold kinda guy like Douglas. He could beat almost anyone, but sometimes just didn't show up. Him not really being in to boxing probably had a lot to do with that.

The man is a great example of what I've always said about pro boxing, and certainly the HW division. Talent and physical attributes make up more as 60% of the fighter's overall strength.

Also everyone should give respect to a fallen warrior that died a hero.

Corrie Sanders was a naturally talented fighter, the best southpaw I have seen. I followed his career for years. His problem was training. When he fought Rahman in America on HBO, he had an injured ankle, did not spar, could not do his road work yet still knocked Rahman through the ropes. Sanders would have won the gold medal in the Olympics, but he was not allowed to fight because of the boycott. His nick name was "The Sniper". When he fought Vlad he had been training for a fight with Valouev in South Africa, Vlad had just stopped McCline when McCline was on top. Vitali and Vlad both wanted to fight the big names in boxing, but Klaus Peter Kohl set up a fight with Sanders. Vlad did not do any real sparring, much less with a southpaw, he mostly lifted weights. Notice how he looked when he got into the ring. He was on a high after defeating McCline, then Kohl picked Sanders for his next opponent. Vlad came into the ring cold and uninterested. I warned them about Sanders, warned Kohl. Wrote a warning right here on the ESB forum, boxing.de and a member of team Klitschko. I was told that they did not care about Sanders. What can I say. I knew that if he was going to lose a fight it would be against Sanders. If there had been a rematch, Vlad would have won, but Sanders would not give a rematch. By the way, Vitali was not almost knocked out by Sanders, not at all. I have that fight on tape. Vitali beat the Hell out of Sanders. At that time I did some work for the Klitschkos on Klitschko.com, not the new site that exists now, but the one before that, which was much better, where we had a good forum and several moderators. We would get some news and post it there before anyone else had it. We also had a Klitschko fan club meeting at ESB on their chat room. I do not know if it still exists, but it was a really good one. When I first saw Vlad win the gold medal in Atlanta, GA I knew he would become a world champion, same with Vitali. They worked hard over the years. I do know that back then Vitali and Vlad were extremely organized, seemed like almost every minute was planned ahead of time. Never seen anyone like them before. They are good people, help children in need, etc., most people do not even know it. I can't understand why there is so much extreme hatred, by some, on this forum. Whatever, enjoy them while you can as they will one day retire. I still have my signed gloves, pictures, etc., and a picture of Boente holding a letter given to Vlad at Ukrainian church. This was after Vlad had lost the fight. I never quit believing in them and am glad I did not. I doubt if we will ever see such talent in the heavyweight division again.

Man you have a delusional disorder. You go to this far to try to cover up the fact that Wlad lost to a part time fighter?? He lost cause Sanders took the fight to him and kicked his fragile ass. You almost sound like you stalk Wlad. Maybe you are just on some good drugs not sure. Must not be into women or anything?
