Holy S***, Ward goes in beast mode with British reporter...

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Sweet-D-Willy, May 25, 2013.

  1. Lewis was robbed . He beat Holyfield's azz to death. **** was funny.
Holyfield was fully exposed that night as the inferior BOXER. People thought Lewis would have dominated him via strength and size in a brawl.. Lewis schooled him with his boxing skills. It was 11-1 Lewis, I gave Holyfield the 3rd and even that's debatable.

For a big country you only got 2 in the top 10, Floyd and Ward. One who fights once every 2 years, and the other who can't get a fight or a pay day. Both great fighters, but that's all you got at this moment in time. We at least got some capable fighters who actually leave their comfort zones, Froch, Khan, Haye, even Martim Murray who went to Argentina and gave a great account of himself against Martinez. We got guys likes Groves, Brook and DeGale, Barker, Fury who are on the fringes, may or may not get to the top but are capable of getting in the mix. Not bad for a tiny Island.

We also have a few Olympians coming through.

    No argument here.

    Lewis won the first fight.

He didnt get a decision though and wanted to set the record straight.

Ward doesnt need to set the record straight. He won the first fight and got the decision

Tyson and Mayweather don't need to travel because they are popular and attract fans. They don't need to travel abroad to make money, Ward does.

Ward needs Froch badly if he wants to make money which Ward does. Ward wants to make money badly as he was calling out Chavez Jr and Mayweather before.

Froch on the other hand, shouldn't and has absolutely no business fighting Ward again as he would get beat badly. He should fight Kessler again, Groves would be a decent fight and there are other names out there. Froch shouldn't fight Hopkins either, because if Froch wins he won't get no credit as people would say Hopkins is 48 and if he loses he'll be called a bum.

They leave their comfort zones because they have to.

If Khan,Haye,Barker etc could make big money and land the big fights fighting at home, they would.

The fact is,that outside of the HW division, nearly every divisions top 10 is stacked with guys who are based in America

There's 5 or 6 Americans champions who are number 1 in their division, wtf are you talking about? Mikey Garcia at Featherweight, Broner at Lightweight, Danny Garcia at Junior Welterweight, Mayweather at Welterweight, Andre Ward at Super Middleweight, and Dawson at Light Heavyweight. The best fighter from the UK however is at number 2.

    Good Rebuttal.

  8. But we are talking about the 168 which is a European Division money wise and it always had been. Benn-Eubank had a third of England watching. A third of England.. Benn vs Jones would have had monster numbers if Jones got his glass ass there.

Stop talking ****... Lewis schooled the **** out of all those American Heroes

The point is at least we are getting guys coming through and getting in the mix. Where are all the talented American fighters? Broner? Ok I'll give you that. Remember, the US is massive compared to the UK. We are like the equivalent of one state. So for a place that big, you guys ain't got much either.

Your concern for Wards finances is heartwarming.

He was kidding on twitter with Floyd, he clearly wasnt making a serious offer.

If Ward wants to make money in the UK, then cool, if not, he'll find someone else.

On a boxing level,he doesnt need the fight and I dont think Froch wants it.

Froch can make big money fighting Kessler again or fighting Groves

  11. Not one of these guys are important to boxing.

These things have a way of working themselves out. Froch might be the name, the draw, the guy with the personality or whatever you want to call it, but Ward will wind up the one with two wins over him (dominant ones, at that), and will be the one at Canastota post-retirement giving a hall of fame speech.

I'd much rather see Ward implement real elite technical skill and ring generalship than see Froch touching guys with the jab, throwing slow/sloppy shoe-shining combinations, and spinning around thanks to absolutely laughable balance.

Hopefully Ward takes the fight in the United Kingdom and embarrasses Froch yet again. "He was too slick, he's too slippery, he's too strong and rough on the inside, he's too sharp." That's what Froch's befuddled self will be saying for a second time.

I literally just said Lewis won the first fight...whats your problem. Im a big fan of Lennox.

Eubank however openly admitted he never wanted to fight Jones in his prime.
    As in publically said it.

Also, why are you so concerned about Wards finances?

What do you care whether he makes 1 or 2 million in a fight?

Yeah man, you're right. Being number 1 isn't important in boxing anymore. :[
