Acually a pretty fair point. Ward isn't as old as people seem to thnk. I guess in time he's traveled alot and fought alot of top fighters.

Froch turned pro at 24.No one wanted him to fight abroad at 29 because no one knew him.And you're completely avoiding my point there.

Froch is probably only behind Johnson when you think of a fighter who went abroad to prove himself.I'm saying you can't put Froch in with what Calzaghe did, because as soon as he was wanted and able to travel,he went,so let's not pretend that Froch is known as some sort of stay at home guy, when it's not even remotely true.
A bit like Ward over there, most people in the UK didn't give a **** about Froch and we used to have to watch obscure PPV channels to see him(the fans)
But as I said,he's known for travelling,so you absolutely cannot put him in the bracket you're trying to.

I like Ward but that made me laugh, just because he got in a plane to fight in another state he feels as if he has already left his comfort zone and fought abroad.:patsch

Bro I dont know who is thicker, Ward with his lying "I fight away from home" or this fool for buying it.

I guess Joe Calzaghe must be the ultimate road warrior given that he fought out of Wales a hell of a lot on Hearn/****** London shows.

In short some yanks think Ward "travels" within his own country but dont reaiise/know that Wales is another country from England:p

    Priceless!

The difference is that Ward made his name in the Super Six without ever having to travel outside his own country, and only once having to travel as far as Atlantic City. This was in such stark contrast to everybody else in the competition, and so Ward has been justifiably given his rep as someone who won't travel for a fight.

Unlike Calzaghe Ward hasnt been fighting the likes of Kabary Salem,Rock Thornberry and Branko Sobot though.

    Ward fights the best fighters.

Calzaghe was fighting those guys when he had a "belt"

Ward fought Boone in his 7th fight.

Bika was one of Joes better victories, and Andre won pretty much every round.

I watched the Boxnation/SKY telecast and you could tell after the fight in the interviews Ward was heated and was pretty much ready to get in there right then  He wants a piece of that atmosphere and big fight recognition you could just feel it :bbb
