Beating a semi-retired Kessler doesn't put Froch in the driver's seat.

Froch's only hope of winning against Ward is a hometown decision which is why he wants Ward in his backyard. Froch clearly lost against Ward and it wasn't even close, losers don't get to dictate to the winner where the fight should be held. Perhaps he can rematch Yusaf Mack in his backyard.

 

Ward was so many levels above Froch it wasn't funny. Froch needs to leave that alone. He knows he doesn't want it.

 

Froch has a few options. Ward is in the insane position of having very few. He's already outclassed Froch, who is such a ridiculously clear #2 in the division that no other fight would be viable. Stieglitz will not go anywhere near Ward. Hopkins will not fight Ward. Even at 175 there aren't too many fights as he has beaten Dawson (albeit at 168) and Pascal is engaged.

Brutal situation for Ward. I'd probably go to England for the kudos and an easy paycheque. And as he's going to England should get a bigger split than Froch. Especially as really he has little to gain and everything to lose.

 

Ward should fight Chad at 175 in his backyard (if he has one?) so people don't consider him a bad sport. The last fight Chad looked more drained than the Aral sea.

He's probably hoping for Stevenson to win the fight.
