I consider Holyfield as the best CW champion, and I think that 99 % members of this forum will agree. What do you think about this fantasy match ? Would Usyk have any chances ?
So, who would win, and how ?

Hard to say because Usyk is still green despite beating the champion at only 10 fights. I fully expect him to improve and learn how to sit on his punches like Loma did last fight.

Usyk is a special kind of talent and a gold medalist.

Holyfield was unstoppable and punch in combinations. He moved up and took flush bombs from boxings best. Usyk does not look like a guy who could take flush over hands from Big Daddy Bowe.
Usyk is good for this era so far.

Way too early for any kind of comparison to Holyfield.

It's still too soon to put Oleksandr against someone as ferocious as Evander was in a fantasy match; let's see him in action versus the numerous dangerous threats of the division (Lebedev, Drozd, Briedis, Dorticos, Huck and the others) and we'll definitely get a clearer point of view about this fascinating matchup.

I'm sure I'll get some **** for this but.... Usyk would beat both of the versions of Holyfield and Qawi from their first match with relative ease. Neither of them would stand a chance against Oleksandr, they stood and traded shots for the majority of the match IIRC, they rocked each other on several occasions, neither had great defense in that match, they were both slow footed both somewhat gassed throughout much of the match. Oleksandr would have boxed circles around both of them, 10-2 9-3 type of decision over both.

Honestly I think Holyfield would have smothered USYK on the inside and pound him out with quick accurate combinations. USYK would have his moments though.

**** off with the race baiting ****, this is the 88 version of Holyfield we're talking about, how many ATG's had he faced in his first 11 matches? He had the definition of a meager resume before the Qawi match as well. Qawi was great but he wasn't that hard to outbox, Usyk would have hardly been touched by him.

You don't see it with Usyk? I wonder why? Try taking off your racist blinders for a second and stop judging every EE fighter based on the color of their skin and on their skill level.

I'm the guy saying Usyk should stay at CW for the time being, don't put ****ing words in my mouth.

Usyk while technically a great boxer doesn't look that destructive to me. Kap'n Huck got stopped by Glowacki but he had him in serious trouble. Holyfield hit harder and wouldn't fold like Huck vs Glowacki. Only one guy can get a stoppage and it ain't Usyk.

I have opened this topic in order to discuss about boxing, not about racial issues. I don't care for "Urban American" fighters, or "Euro" fighters...

dude.. holyfield-qawi is one of the classic (higher weight) fights of all time. a pit-bull against a rabid german shephard. that's will to power right there. you can't dump on that.

I'm not dumping on it in the least, its a great fight, but I just happen to think Usyk beats both of them.
