    - Most likely took steroids
    - In his prime was dominated by Bowe twice (and won a close decision in his only win)
    - In his prime was schooled by Moorer
    - Notoriously dirty fighter

Tyson - Headbutted his way to victory
Bowe - Barely beat Bowe, completely dominated by Bowe in their 2 other fights
    Old Foreman - Ancient Foreman
    Old Holmes - Ancient Holmes
    Ruiz - :-(
    Rahman - :-(
Moorer - Stopped a past it Moorer; was schooled by Moorer previously
    Dokes - Dokes was shot
    Buster - Douglas was overweight
pinklon - Tyson ruined whatever was left of Thomas

yeah the ancient holmes that whooped mercer

Michael dokes was ranked top 5

Michael Moorer was a belt holder

    Douglas was the champ

Nice excuses, im sure the headbutt was the reason he won the fight.

Personally I rate him just below Chuck Wepner on my list of all-time heavyweights.

Wepner was a notoriously dirty fighter but I dont think he took steroids.

WHOAAAAAAA... Ray Mercer. Mercer was getting outboxed by Morrison and that European bum before losing to Holmes.

    Dokes was way past it.

Moorer was done by then. Not to mention he whooped Holyfield a few years beforehand.

Yeah, Douglas was the champ. He was also about 90 pounds overweight.

I think I spy a general forum lemming (aka Tyson nuthugger). Is that correct? :tired

Let's face it Holyfield dominated a still very formidable version of Tyson and despite being an inconsistent fighter had quite a number of other good wins on his record.

I think you have overstated the case somewhat, but I agree with your general point.

Holyfield is very unusual in that he ranks very high on this forum, despite never quite dominating any era.

He seems to get high marks for courage and determination and his never-say-die attitude (I admire these qualities too) but IMO its not quite enough to get him in the top10 HWs.

In P4P consideratios he gets elevated though, because then you can bring in his naturally smaller body shape, and his flawless cruiser career.

If Holyfield was British he'd be given a little more credit than Frank Bruno. Not much though.

douglas being overweight excuses him for getting his ass kicked?

Moorer was 3 years younger than holyfield and on a winning streak.

Douglas had won all his fights for 5 years prior to the holyfield fight and he was ranked very high, yet u claim he was way past it, these bull**** excuses are hilarious.

Holyfield wasn't a complete bum, but he was mediocre.

He only ever beat bums, and avoided most of the top fighters.

    Look who he beat :

    Tyson - a ****** jailbird bum
    Bowe - a fat bum
Douglas - a very fat bum
Foreman - a very fat old bum
    Dokes - a coke-head bum
Holmes - an old peanut-head bum
    Mercer - bum
    Moorer - bum

He couldn't even beat Lennox Lewis. He couldn't beat him in 24 rounds ! Oliver McCall did it in 2 rounds. Of course Holyfield avoided the real fighters like McCall and Akinwande, and he never fought Peter McNeeley or Gerry Cooney either. These guys would have ripped Holyfield a new *******, to be frank.
