Interesting interview with Holyfield, at around 7:40 Evander mentions that Foreman was the strongest and hardest puncher he ever fought. I disagree with him when he tries to play down George's age, it was a massive factor along with him having a decade away from the sport. He would have torn the division up if he was in his prime in the 90's IMO.

I could be mistaken, but isn't Holyfield also on record stating that he felt Bowe was the strongest puncher he ever faced?

The last thing Foreman didn't lose was his punch. In fact, the added weight may even have made his jab harder.

No he's always said Foreman was the hardest hitter he fought.

But the massive loss in speed wouldn't help at all. Big difference is a young Foreman would have landed a hell of a lot more.

    No arguments from me there.

But I'll counter with: old Foreman paced himself better :hey

I remember George catching Evander with a pretty mean overhand right in the mid rounds that nearly turned his brain into mush.

Doesn't make him a better fighter though, I think his lack of stamina gets way overplayed. He threw everything he had for 8 rounds in the heat of Africa of all places. Name me any other monster punches from the heavyweight division who could throw their hardest shots punch after punch for 8 rounds.

Mike Tyson of the Pinklon Thomas fight knocks any version of foreman out late.

Wass it's actually sad how you go about making all these Tyson threads, even trying to look slightly innocent in doing so eg this thread.
