... if he were to win a title. The right thing for him to do is to give Chris Byrd a shot at it. Not saying he will win and not saying that it would be the best thing for the heavyweight division but just the RIGHT thing to do. I don't see that ever happening however. Even in decline Byrd beats Holyfield.

Holyfield getting this shot is what is wrong with boxing today.

I don't know 'bout that, I see where you're coming from, but Chris Byrd isn't ranked in the WBO's top 15.

him getting a shot is as much of a sham as judah getting two title shots coming off of two loses (i don't count his FNF bull**** match) or erik morales getting a title shot after getting starched by manny in two rounds. no difference.

He clearly hasn't earned a titleshot, but I think the promoters are hoping to make alot of PPV sales on the Holyfield name and the aging warrior tries to recapture past glory angle to sell it.

But personally, I don't think Holy will sell the PPV they are thinking he will, and Ibragimov is a nobody, outside of diehard boxing fans. I think this fight will sell fair, at best.

But assuming HOly does win (likely), I think he'll be very likely to face another titleholder in his very next fight, cause he don't have the time to screw around with someone like Byrd, as Holyfield is clearly on a mission to be THE man at heavy, and he has little time to do it, in.

Assuming he wins the minimal WBO title, I can see Holy fighting someone with one of the BIG THREE titles, in the spring. And that will be good for boxing.

Byrd gave Holyfield a shot at a title when Evander did not deserve it.

Holyfields last showing looked the best he has had in 5 years.

Im pretty sure he can out muscle Ibragimov to a late stoppage or UD.

Evender "Bad Deal" Holyfield will be out there to make Sultan looks good. He's the same fighter that lost to Toney and Donald. The only difference is that he's fighting bums this time and beating them by his head, and the refs are doing nothing against that for my surprise.

No he isnt the same fighter that Holyfield was very slow couldnt throw his left in anyway or a combo now his jab is more effective hes throwing the double lefthook he loves so much body then head and bouncing on his feet agian. He had back and shoulder injuries and took 2 years off. Holyfield will beat Ibragimov that guy is nothing he won a fight that Shannon Briggs whos noboddy decided to throw 1 punch around in.

See brother, when you fight a bum, you will be able to make a good show by throwing your jab perfectly, make some Ali feet movements and throw your powerful left hooks and right hands whenever you want and in a fashionable way. However, when you fight a serious fighter, out of a sudden, you will find yourself puzzled about how to control the fight and throw the punches you usually master against bums. That exactly what is happening to Holy right now.

And Sultan is the one who made Briggs look bad, not Briggs made himself look bad.

Briggs is bad whats he ever did besides stun Lennox Lewis ? The gift over 50 year old George Foreman ? Fight in a horrible horrible fight vs Lykahovich until KOing him. All hes proven is he has good power and a hot wife.
