I think this fight (if staged properly) could be good for boxing. I would take the whole Rocky IV angle and RUN WITH IT!

Evander Holyfield enters the ring in the red, white & blue trunks along with his striped top hat. Since James Brown has since passed we'd have to find a suitable replacement for him (Chris Brown?) to perform an over the top elaborate rendition of "Livin in America" complete with fireworks & confetti.

Wlad Klitschko enters the ring in the red and yellow trunks. Stoic and silent as he makes his way into the ring.

Regardless of the outcome, you'd get people to watch. People that don't ordinarily watch boxing. Hype the **** out of this fight and PROMISE a spectacle the likes of which we've never seen (the entrance). Get Stallone, Lundgren & Weathers all involved and VOILA...you've got viewers.

DAMN...I should be a fight promoter!

The Klitschkos are sensible and good guys. They wouldn't want to kill someone, even a willing victim.

The claim is not to be taken seriously. At this point, Holyfield will utter anything just to get attention, and more importantly, a nice paycheck. I have full confidence that both of the K-bros will ignore any verbal challenges he makes. Its time for life/boxing to move on.

You have to think of the combination of things here...

Holyfield in his heyday was a warrior of unbelievable if not uncanny determination.

He started boxing when he was EIGHT years old.

A super determined man who only knows boxing, what did we expect.

    I disagree,

During a time when the sport is at an all time low in popularity, the last thing it needs is a novelty stunt to reinforce the already notorious reputation that boxing is a circus. What the sport needs is a series of tournys in every weight class, taking the very best young talent and matching it against one another. Even if there isn't much available in the way of young hopefuls, we should still take whatever there is and try to cultivate a better crop for the future. In 2008, we saw a little bit of this at heavyweight. Alexander Povetkin took on Eddie Chambers and Chris Areola fought Chazz Witherspoon. Now I agree that these guys do not exactly posses boundless potential but its matchups like these that we need to see more of... This garbage of old men fighting other old men, or faded veterans challenging for the title in an effort to rewrite the Rocky saga, is killing the sport and has been for the better part of a decade now..

He also said he need a rest because the Valuev fight was so exhausting. The fight against Valuev, where he really did close to nothing, took so much out of him, he will be gassed against either Klitschko after two rounds, if he mangages to stay on his feet for that long that is, because it will be a ten times harder pace.

**** it let him fight the Klitschkos now, its best to get it over with now then wait until another year from now after he beats Valuev again, I mean damn atleast if we do it now he is a year fresher.
