Holyfield-Ibragimov: Who are you rooting for?

It would be better for boxing if Holyfield won, but I'm afraid if he won, he could get seriously injured in the future by better boxers than Ibragimov. I believe he's just too old for it. But then again, that's what they said about Foreman. We'll just have to see.

I'm going to root for Ibragimov.

Beating Ibragimov will be a great accomplishment at his age. I like to watch greatness.

Holy winning would be better, if the goal is eventual unification,.............. but Ibrag winning would probably make for more credible future unification fights, but with Ibrag winning, those unification fights are probably not as likely to happen. Whereas Holy will get it rolling, right away.

So, I don't know.

 

Boxing needs a Heavyweight to step up to mark and dominate the division for a 7+ year reign, beating anything that resembles a threat.

I do not think either man is capable of doing this, but Sultan has the greater chance.

Winning another piece of alphabet crap adds very little to Holyfield's legacy; and a defeat, even a crushing defeat, does little to his legacy either. Indeed people may overrate Holyfield because they feel sorry for him, if he were to lose badly.

 

Ibragimov ... he's a nice guy.

Holyfield doesn't deserve a place at the Top15 of any sanctioning body atm...
