Holyfield in the Louis era

So, Holyfield doesn’t have to bulk up and lose half of his speed because he’s average size for the era instead of small?

he’s the easy #2 in the era behind Louis. Without any bulking up, he ends up more successful than he was in his own time.

 

people are seriously forgetting how damn good he was for his size. and how much he had to do to overcome that size to fight at HW. In an era where he was an average sized HW naturally? Probably does some crazy **** like fight once a month, starches the entire division until he lands in a ring with Joe Louis.

remember what a throwback he was in a way. Fought anyone, with zero care about matchmaking. Tougher than old boot leather. Meaner than a badger in the ring, polite mamas boy in front of a mic. He’d have been more at home in Louis’s era than he was in his own.

 

Actually what’s infesting to me is I think he’d lose to a few guys… Moore, Charles and Walcott have a shot, so does Conn and Louis definitely beats him IMO - Schemling could to, so his career trajectory might look very interesting - Marciano fight would be awesome as would both Baers and Farr.
