Say Tyson didn't turn pro until 1990. Holyfield had Tyson's reign in the 80s. How does Holyfield do from Berbick to Douglas as in how do the fights proceed? What difficult moments if any does he run into? What if the mega fight was Holyfield/Spinks rather than Tyson/Spinks, what happens? What trials and tribulations would he have? He fights all of the same opponents Tyson did in that time frame.
Although he might not win them all as impressively as Tyson I believe he beats all his opponents and goes one better and defeats Douglas. The added experience might have actually helped him fighting Bowe for the first time as well.
Well he did beat Douglas but it would have been nice if Douglas showed up in the same shape he was in for Tyson. Douglas lackluster shape and showing stole a lot of the shine off of Holyfield's win in the eyes of the general public. I wonder how Holyfield/Spinks and Holyfield/Tucker goes and how he deals with a Holmes 4 years younger?
Spinks did the right things against Tyson if Tyson punched the same force as Spinks it would have been a good fight I know that`s stupid but even though Tyson fought clever against Spinks it was the power that made it so one-sided Spinks couldn`t take a solid heavyweight shot the way he could take a good light heavy whack, Holy`s punches got harder as he put on weight but not all his punches were hard some were hard than others but they were all sharp, I feel that would have been a great fight and even better at cruiser, Tucker would have put up a really good fight against Holyfield and there`s no way Holy could hurt him. Tubbs may have given Holy problems kind of like a higher level version of the Dokes v Holy fight. Douglas skipping away from punches would have bothered Holy more than when they fought and Douglas was out of shape but I think Holy would punish Douglas when he overextended with the jab the way he did when Tyson stated to time him with uppercuts before he knocked him down for the long count. All the others would be easier, Bonecrusher might spoil a lot and had a punchers chance. Holy would have had a good reign I feel, how old would he have been when some guy called Bowe would challenge him? LOL!
Holyfields fight with his stablemate, Tyrell Biggs would have being interesting. History and time hasn't treated Biggs well but he wasn't without talent and you could say that he was unfortunate to have met a Tyson arguably at his relentless best. I would have thought Holyfield would have worn him down eventually especially if it was scheduled for 15 rounds as the Tyson fight was but Biggs would have achieved more success with his boxing skills against Holyfields style than he did against Tyson relentless pressuring.
Ironically, Spinks may have had a better legacy at heavyweight had he fought Holyfield or even say Muhammad Ali. Sure Spinks might have lost but he'd have been more competitive and if he was stopped, it probably would've been late. There's even a possibility he'd have seen the last bell.
OK here's my prediction s. Holyfield wrsc Berbick 5 Holyfield wins unanimous 12 Smith but it s a hard struggle and Smith actually rocks him on a couple of occasions. Holyfield wrsc 9 Thomas Holyfield wins unanimous decision tucker, but once again a hard fight for holy. Biggs actually out points holy for the first half of the fight but eventually is dropped and stopped in the 9 th. Holmes despite the lay off is remarkable in this fight. He wins at least 5 round s straight off but Holys pressure mounts and he's pulled out of the fight by his corner in the 8 th. This Holmes is under trained and not in the same shape as the version that Holyfield meets later. Tubbs gives the real deal a boxing lesson for 4 round s but is stopped in the fifth. Spinks is nt intimidated by EH and really goes for it, actually hurting him in the second round. It s a similar fight as the Holyfield Stewart ft, and spinks to is stopped in the ninth, hurt and bleeding. Bruno puts up a great fight where he shocks the world by dropping holy in the second round with a massive uppercut. But he holds on to recover, Bruno by the sixth is out on his feet and Holyfield throws everything at him till the ref jumps in. Williams works his jab so well he's well in front in to the 8 th, but Holyfield then connect s with a sledgehammer right to KO him. Douglas in the right frame of mind for this fight jabs Holyfield s face in to a swollen mess, he drops Holyfield in the 12 th and wins a split decision.
Hahahaha notice how the number 1 nuthugger has Holyfield losing to Douglas like his hero, nobody can surpass Mikey boy. Douglas could have been fighting with 5% bodyfat, throw that uppercut from that far out and he's getting knocked the fcuk by Holyfield plain and simple.
Naaaa Wass. It ain't happening. In that time frame, Douglas beats Holyfield. Face facts me old China.
Hahahaha in that time frame, he was sparked out not long after he wiped the floor with your idol. I know you folk like to portray Tokyo Douglas as Ali and Louis rolled into one but he just wasn't, far from it pal.
I'm beginning to think you love Tyson that much you'd take a big right hand off Butterbean just to hear everyone call Mike the greatest fighter that ever lived.
