Holyfields ability to recover when he was hurt was incredible. I love watching Holyfield fights he was a true warrior and should have been given the nod against Valuev.

It wasn't just his ring performances showing what a warrior he was. It was also how he didn't dodge or avoid anyone. If he were in his prime and fighting now, he'd be the guy who signs to fight Zhang and Bakole back to back.

I mean, putting the lineage itself on the line to fight Bert Cooper in a non-title fight... just lol. That's like taking Shavers as a tune-up. Normal fighters just don't do that.

He won some. He lost some. He hung on too long. But it's hard to name a fighter with a bigger heart or bigger balls. When it came to boxing, seemed like he'd been born without the emotion of fear.

I was about to start a new topic about this, but @Rumsfeld beat me to it with a classic (as usual) video.

Bit of a pointless claim since it's not predominantly based on meritocracy.

entirely possible that Usyk beats Fury again, beats Dubois to unify again, and then defends it once or twice before retiring

it is funny though how much Holyfield is associated with undisputed. That was a pretty long period of time where if you were fighting for undisputed at heavy, you were fighting Holyfield. (And yeah I know that had a lot to do with the sanctioning bodies always wanting that)

it’s also entirely possible that Fury beats Usyk, beats Dubois, then defends once.

although I’ve got to say that if that had been Dubois in there in round 8, nothing would have saved Fury. Staying up while out on his feet and getting hit by Usyk is one thing. Getting hit by a legit banger is another entirely.

Fury & Usyk will retire hand in hand and let Dubious or whoever the next young buck is take over. As long as the bodybuilding bum doesn't get a shot at free belts all is good in the world of boxing.

Wlad was undisputed for Leapai and Pianeta. Defending WBO, WBA, and IBF while WBC is sitting vacant is undisputed. And the WBO did exist when Holyfield was around.

    Great video Rummy.
Holyfield is a great man who defeated 7 lineal HW champions. Holmes and Foreman are described in this video, but not: Douglas, Rahman, Moorer, Bowe and Tyson.
That's why Holyfield deserves a place in the TOP 10 ATG HW.

"Undisputed" becomes decadent with belt withdrawals, so we come to a paranormal situation:
Usyk Vs. Fury 1 was a fight for the undisputed HW world champion, and the immediately scheduled rematch is not for the title of undisputed world champion.

His expression before fights was like, meh, just another day at the office. Like he rolled out of bed to fight Tyson.
