I've been under the impression that Evander Holyfield used PEDs during his career. What is missing is a positive test or a PED expert weighing in with what exact drugs he would've actually used. All the circumstantial pieces seem to substantiate the idea that he was dirty: Evander's close friendship with bodybuilding legend and steroid/hgh user Lee Haney Dr. Goodman's statement's after Moorer 1 that his heart condition was consistent with PED use The Evan Fields fiasco with Applied Pharmacy in Alabama and the follow on association with Signature Pharmacy in Florida His enormous traps and visible fluctuations in size between fights; chronologically he was huge vs Moorer 1, relatively smaller vs Czyz, much larger vs. Tyson 1 & 2, smaller vs Bean etc. My specific ask is this - what specific steroids/PEDs would Holyfield have used that wouldn't be detected on a post fight drug test? Or what masking agents? Guys who were top tier fighters near the top of their career who got busted for steroid use, Roy Jones, James Toney, Shane Mosely, Fernando Vargas, while Evander did not is difficult to reconcile if he were dirty.
The specific symptoms he suffered after the 1st Moorer fight were consistent with HGH use. They didn’t test for it. Margaret Goodman simply asked him if he used HGH and naturally he denied it, so that was the end of it.
