I remember Holyfield was interviewed moments before the Lewis/Tyson fight took place, and he said that Tyson was going to knock Lewis out, explaining that Tyson will leap off the mat to land a single punch. I wish someone would upload it. I haven't seen it since I watched the fight live.

It's a good fight analysis, if Tyson wasn't so past it.

This was when Holyfield was sounding punchy. He was also saying "Lennox Lewis don't bend, he just breaks."

Holyfield is known for having a glass brain, despite his iron jaw

Holyfield was serving up sour grapes. that's what he wanted to happen, he's entitled to it.

Maybe Holy missed Tyson-Nielsen, & assumed the Tyson who fought Golota would be facing Lewis, rather than an overweight zombie?

i know what interview your talking about, i think ive seen the same one.

Holyfield says something like Tyson should win because Lennox canot fight the same type of fight that Holyfield did in 1996.

Big difference to 1996 Tyson and 2003 Tyson

holyfield's logic was that if tyson beat lewis then all three of them would have got the better of another, and come up short against the other. holyfield would have been ranked on top head to head because he held two (official) wins over his conquest, and went the distance with the guy he lost to. fighters often predict the result that reflects best on them.

in the end, the official wins may not demonstrate his supremacy, but in my mind he came out on top anyway.

incomparable because of tyson's contrasting states. holyfield beat a limited but still dangerous fighter, while he himself was on the slide. lewis beat tyson when he was shot, and lewis was within eighteen months or so of his prime. holyfield's win is infinitely better, but i guess lewis was more dominant over tyson... not that that means anything in itself.

what i learnt from these fights was that you could never write holyfield off, tyson was a headcase with a crazy chin, and lewis knew how and when to pick his fights.

Which fight was it where Lewis says "i want Tyson next, i defintly want Tyson" he obviously knew Tyson was utterly shot.

However u cant blame Lewis, imagine if he hadnt fought Tyson...

honestly, it would have made no difference to me. i consider that fight on a level with marciano louis, and holmes ali.

lewis' best wins are the cuts stoppage against vitali and the draw against holyfield.

I still want to know why Lewis didn't give Tyson a title shot in 2000.

Tyson brutally KTFO Botha in '99, then Frans beat a bum & he got an undeserved title shot. :nut

I'm a fan of Lewis & think his title run was very good, especially because he finished it by brutalizing VK, but i strongly believe Tyson was the most worthy & dangerous challenger in 2000, more so than Botha, Grant & the disappointingly overweight Tua.
