Nah, he may be telling the truth. He was very inexperienced when he fought Qawi. And Qawi fought a great fight the first time. Evander had to walk through fire to squeak out that victory. Amazing fight.

Agreed. That was a fifteen round fight against a bonafide hall of fame opponent. Evander had only 11 pro fights and spent some time in the hospital afterward.

Well, against Bowe he was much more experienced and had to walk through fire just to last the distance. So how is Bowe not his toughest opponent?

I call BS on this one by Holy. Not that he is the only one to laud someone he beat over someone he lost to, though. Far from it.

I tend to take what fighters say with a grain of salt when it comes to questions like this. Often their ego gets in the way and they will say their toughest opponent is someone they beat as opposed to the guy who beat them.

They asked James Toney who his best opponent was and he named Mike McCallum. Naturally, he picks the guy he went 2-0-1 against, and not the phenom who won just about every round against him.

I would agree with Holy. His bout with Quai was a 15 round war.
