Jesse Owens couldn't even make the Olympic team today. It's the same with boxing. I always just look at Joe Louis, I say, You know what, he kind of slow. I'd tear him up.
People say, Joe Louis had twenty-five consecutive wins as a champion. That's because they didn't have videotape. You couldn't pick up his style unless you was in there with him.

    Thoughts?

Surely if its to be a fair fight Louis gets pumped full of ****in steriods , gets a cup that come up to chest and is allowed to use his head as a third fist

It shouldn't be that hard, Louis has been dead for some time now.

It'd be a tough fight, that's for sure. Holyfield is one guy I'd say could pull off the upset, despite Louis being the far superior fighter.

If Joe Louis could pump himself full of HGH and steroids like Evander did, I'm sure he'd do fine in today's HW era. He'd probably make some noise at cruiserweight anyway.

I don't know exactly what Holyfield is talking about saying they didn't have videotape. Sure the footage isn't as good, but there's a bunch of Louis fights on film. Even before Louis, Gene Tunney was known to watch films of opponents and study them.

Boxing is not the same as other sports, not in the way Holy is talking about..It doesnt compare to athletics in the same way.

Ive spoken personally to two boxers who have met Holyfield and say he is actually the biggest wanker they have met out of all the well known boxers they have encounterd ..I was a little suprised by that actually, Evander has always been a fav of mine, ever since I first played his game on Sega.

It's hard to say whether Holyfield is punchy, or is just stupid like he's always been. Good fighter, and courageous as they come, but he's obviously tremendously clueless in other aspects of life. The Louis statement is classless and idiotic. Maybe Evander should get married for the eighth time and have a dozen more kids so he has an excuse to fight another ten years. Then he'll have about 4 brain cells left to make ******ed statements with.

The statement is incredibly idiotic; Imagine Joe Louis or Ali with a training reagime of the Klitchkos [or any other modern fighter]

Holyfield is certainly entitled to his opinion on it, he is one of Louis' fellow HW ATGs...it's not like he called Louis trash.

I agree with Evan Fie....oh, Evander Holyfield.
In this modern age I don't see the fighters from way way way in the past being able compete. Especially not any heavyweights under 200lbs.

If Holyfield thought Bowe had good offense...Louis is gonna be a real eye-opener.
