I translated a report that I found on german sports website, Sport1.de

"Holyfield is actually allowed to challenge russian heavyweight Alexander Povetkin.
Only 3 days after Povetkins points victory against Chagaev for the WBA title the fight was scheduled for 17th December in Zurichs Hallenstadion. This is what you can read on the website of the arena. Holyfield will be 49 years old by then.
The ex-champ was on ringside last Saturday in Erfurt, sitting next to Wilfried Sauerland and watched the fight.
He already took part on a Sauerland-event in Zurich three years ago, fighting then champ Nikolai Valuev. Many spectators think that Holyfield was robbed.
The last fight he had was in Kopenhagen in July against 46 year old Brian Nielsen. The US citizen only won 2 of his last 5 bouts."

    Unbelievable.

Sauerland crap as usual, a shame for boxing.

I will rooting for Evander, i hope he can win this time. Against Valuev he was robbed.

I do not like to see Evander fight at this age, but he is a real warrior. Povetkin is just a joke. Instead of fighting Wlad, he is looking for old man to beat.

    Go Evander! The real deal!

I'd like to see Holyfield win, even though it would give more ammo to the "weak era" theorists, just to see the look on Atlas' face :yep Unfortunately I think it's impossible at this point, he got tooled by Ibragimov and Povetkin will do the same to him.

    Figures.

Funny thing is some here actually give Holy a 'decent chance' to pull it off... I think this is a dreadful mismatch.

yeah Holy looked like dead meat in his fight with Williams that was awful.. but who knows few straight punches could be enough to shatter that glass at some point..

Evander won that fight against Valuev so the least they could do was to give him a shot at the regular title before he goes into his fities. I do not believe this has to do with any politics b'sides the fact that he is a four time WBA titleholder and didn't win for a fifth time by a nail against Ruiz in the rubber match and against Valuev of course.

I pray that Evander comes out healthy out of this fight more than expecting him to come victorius. This is a whole process of letting Povetkin get some exposure before he goes at Wladimir. Ibragimov also fought Evander and then travelled to the US to meet Wladimir.

When Holyfield is 60, he will still be challenging for the title... No special news here.
