I find it very interesting how these guys have faired in the public eye these days. The common view would be to say Evander is a better, nicer guy than Mike Tyson. Holy has just come out of the Big Brother house and I’m surprised at how much he has had foot in mouth disease while he was in there, literally everything he said caused outrage, everyone now thinks he has homophobic views and condones cruelty to animals. He only been in there a week! He shoulda stayed at home. :patsch

In contrast Mike has come out a far more likeable character over the last couple of years, in the US he pretty much seems to have rebuilt his public image and is giving big George a run for his money!

Evander might have out toughed Mike in the ring but Tyson seems the smarter man to me. He knows how to play the media game, which sounds ridiculous due the the fact he threatened to butt **** some guy on national TV. But since his retirement he nearly hasn’t put a foot wrong, his views are very on the mark its rare he offends the general public these days. His honesty can seem outrageous but maybe people just like the fact he is being honest? At first I thought Tyson’s notoriety gave him the edge here but the fact is Evander just makes mistakes, he could be much better perceived for his past achievements than he is.

I don’t think old Holy is a bad guy, I just think he is a bit out of touch and picks and chooses his beliefs, making him a bit of a hypocrite. It also seems he is less vocal about admitting his mistakes, whereas as Mike just comes out with it, endearing himself more to the public?

Back in the day I didn’t see that coming, I thought Holy would be a massive hero and Tyson would be the eternal villain after what he has done in his early life. Mike’s image is going from strength to strength while Evander’s is going down the toilet!

People in general tend to judge others by what they do or how they're perceived through the media. Tyson bit Holyfield's eat and from then Holyfield played the hero victim while Tyson continued to play the villain. Please note that by "play" I mean follow the script unwillingly provided by the media. In reality, only people living with a person would know how he/she truly is. That said, Holyfield turning out to be "homophobic" shouldn't surprise anyone since he has been clear from day one that he's very religious.

Holy defo has fallen from grace over the years in the public eye.
Tyson defo has rebuilt his image to an extent but overall there was really no competition between the 2 in the popular vote.

Holyfield only lost favour with the PC brigade imo he came across great on big brother

Yeh he has some outdated views but its just stuff he was taught by his mother as a kid, can't blame him really.

I agree with this, he is a tad old fashioned but he is a likeable guy imo.

I think the fact he is very religious is the thing that damages him though, as he doesn't practice what he preaches. He wont change his views on homo***uality but he will change his views on banging anything he sees. I'm a big fan of Holyfield's and agree the PC brigade have blown it out of proportion but he defiantly not helping himself. To improve his image at this point almost seems as tough as he was for Tyson when he was an ear biting ******!

F*ck Big Brother it's a dead end t.v show. Holyfield is a Legend and the reason he was voted out of big brother was because the audience is made up of women, gays and younger kids who don't know him. I heard he talked about his self belifs in there so good for him and lets have it right the bible say's Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. :deal

Don't be surprised at Holyfield's dislike of homo***uals - he is religious after all. We hear it time and time again from those faith-head whackos!

Difference between Holyfield and Tyson is people seem to forgive Tyson no matter what he does. "I **** you til you love me, ******" gets admiration on here - yet Holyfield condemned.

    Don't forget Tyson is a convicted ******.

He fell off a pregnant horse and got so angry with it that he punched it in the face.

Bit of a ***** thing to do. Same goes for Duran. Bugs me when people tell that story, whereas if they stopped and thought what they would think if they actually saw some **** load up on a right hook across a horses head. Theyd think rightly, "what a *****".

    Question to americans:
Do you guys really care if a person is homophobic? Do you see anything bad in it?

He shouldn’t have gone on big brother that’s for sure, its a pretty desperate act on his part. He just seems a bit out of it saying that stuff, its like he felt the horse story would be funny and people would laugh about it. He not got the savvy to know the media would run away with it. I guess the big brother thing could at least have brought him some popularity in the UK, but he appears the have ****ed that right up LOL

dont think he will have his own reality tv show any time soon

Holyfield was something of a childhood hero to me. The first boxing match I ever saw was him taking his title back from Bowe and seeing him beat a man that much bigger than him left a mark. And then he beat Tyson, the fighting beast, twice when his best days seemed long past. He was great. But this Big Brother **** is bad. He's hit a lot of sour notes by the sound of it. I don't watch reality TV, but a quick Internet review shows up animal abuse & homophobia. I can't speak for the rest of the world but those are bad things to be associated with here in the UK. We like animals more than we like people.

But then, as far as I can tell, Tyson is treated as a freak show by most. He's either depicted as a brutal, raping monster or a broken fool incapable of moving past the issues created by his awful childhood or, you know, a combination of both. Neither are exactly a good end for the baddest man on Earth.

From where I sit it seems that neither of them really register worth a damn anymore. Certainly not to folk who weren't around in their heyday. They've gone from being big men standing astride the globe to being middle-aged celebs eking out a living based on the scraps of their past (well-earned) celebrity before it fully disintegrates. And they're retroactively spoiling those past selves as they go.

I wish they'd had better people in their corner who could force them to put some of their absurd earnings aside away from their youthful stupidity so they could leave the scene with grace.

You can say what you want about Tyson, but you can't deny that he is interesting. Even with the lisp, when he speaks, you listen. He can tell you good stories and even be insightful upon his reflection. I mean can you imagine Holyfield getting the coverage Mike did with his autobiography or his HBO broadway show? He owned a crowd for 90mins, just himself. The crowd left wanting more, cos it was a condensed version of his life.

I don't blame Tyson for biting Holyfield's ear off, since Holyfield kept headbutting him over and over again...............
