Lets say they sign the contract to fight... Who would you favor? Will Holyfield beat him a third time? IMO here are my thoughts: I know Mike is in need of some ca$h, which I think is why he wants this fight.... A third fight with Holyfield would be some-what big imo. Holyfield said that if the money is right, he would fight Tyson again... Does this fight seem likley to happen? Or is this just another hype fight that will never happen? If this however does go through, who do you think will win? I myself favor Holyfield, as I think others on this forum do as well. Tyson hasn't fought in ages and I think a fight with Holyfield would be bad for him. Holyfield has been pretty active latley, comming off a recent title shot v Ibragimov. Also, would you guys be excited if this fight were to be made or do you really not give a ****? Your thoughts.
Holyfield wins. Tyson is so far past his best; he hasn't looked good since 1996. Tyson would have a punchers chance though, but who knows. If he actually gets in shape and is mentally focused, maybe he can surprise us, but I'd say the chances of that happening are slim.
Tyson needs Roach back or Mayweather Sr for defensive/conditioning purposes. He's not beating anyone in the Top 50 w/Fenech.
I give Tyson a about a 15-20% chance of beating Holyfield, if he got back with Roach, it would be 25%. Tyson is not fighting to get his career back on track, it's for the huge paycheck he will recieve at the end of the day. If Tyson pulls off the upset, dont be surprised to see him getting offers from every title holder in the division, including Wlad. Tyson is not only extremely popular in the states, but in most other countries as well. I think this fights a win, win for anyone involved, the fans get to see 2 legends go at it one more time, Heavyweight boxing becomes main stream again for one night, and both Tyson and Holyfield get a big 8 figure deal, there really is no loser in this fight.
I know the heavyweight scene is quite poor at the moment, but there really is no need to stoop this low. Watching Tyson get yet another beating may have been entertaining at one point, but not any more.
Tyson has been humiliated enough and the fans have been ripped off as well, turn the page. this is why MMA is thriving.
Tyson's been far too inactive in recent years, and his weights climbed way too high. Mid 40's or not, Holyfield's active and always in shape.
I'd go for Holyfield. Tyson has lost it big time. If this one happened, he may start quickly, but he'll soon fall apart if things don't go as he wants them to. Evander's skills may have eroded with time, but he's been more active than Tyson, who has nothing left mentally IMO. It would still be interesting if it happened, though.
