Can't remember if this was discussed - does anyone think Evander took a dive?

Evander was nearly 60 he should be cashing in on ''I've fallen and can't get up" adverts, not being fed to mma fighters young enough to be his son.

Not a dive it was just that Belfort couldn't control himself.

A lifelong steroid regime, like the one Belfort is on, does not promote rational thought. It leads to violent outbursts instead of a controlled exhibition.

Yep, I thought Belfort deviated from the script of waltz , hold and go the distance.

No dive, fact is Holyfield should have ducked the bout from the outset, his neuro system is at best compromised by his years in the ring, no way should he have been allowed inside the squared circle, Holyfield was a legend he should have stayed a legend.

Seeing the great Holyfield looking like Bambi on ice was a truly horrid thing to witness, we should not have seen it as it should not have happened.

Holyfield even looked fragile and uncoordinated on the pads prior to the fight. Should never have been allowed to box.

No, Vitor went full TRT mode and had no mercy and at Holyfield's age your punch resistance is gone

 For those that don't know

    a) Holyfield is about 200 boxing years old
    b) Belfort glows radioactive from all the vitamins he's taken
    c) Belfort was always a fast, heavy handed striker who likes blitzing people

The only dive Holyfield took was into the pool of self-realization that old guys should not be fighting with roided younger guys.

Didn't the ref jump in and stop it?
A stoppage that would normally be considered premature, but the ref was humanely accounting for the old man's age.
Holyfield's legs were simply not there due to him being near 60.
If I recall correctly this was an exhibition, so his opponent was a mega a-hole for actually trying to go for the kill. These old-timer exhibitions should be like the Tyson-Jones deal, where they are clearly just playing and not trying to hurt each other.

I agree on everything except that Tyson wasn’t trying to hurt Jones, lol, Jones was definitely there to just play but Tyson came with bad attentions, at least that’s how it looked to me.

Whilst I would agree that Holyfield was on the slide by that time let's not act like Belfort was a spring chicken. Belfort's injury-ravaged mess of a body was at least three or four times the age of his actual chronological age due to MMA being much more taxing on your body than the far inferior martial art of boxing. Truth be told, MMA fighters are just much better boxers than actual boxers and the vast majority of boxers simply cannot fight a lick. Hence why boxing is the only sport where even at the elite level they freely refer to each other as ''bums''

Holyfield wasn’t even hurt. The ref stopped it because Holyfield was all over the place looking fragile.
