Holyfield vs Cooper, Holy had a hard time against Cooper..Why?

Someone post Cooper vs. Mercer too. Another slugfest.

 

I started watching the first few rounds the other night, but I had to stop because I was tired and wanted to do a proper scorecard on it. I might have to wait a bi until I'm not so busy with my job search, but man what a slugfest so far through the first 4.

Holyfield fought the wrong fight. I agree that he didnt show him enough respect. Evander was standing in there and hooking with Cooper.

Bert started timing him with that short inside righthand.

It was a great fight and Cooper showed what he was capable of if he was clean and in decent shape.

When he was in shape and off the coke he was a good heavyweight.
I think he was in very good shape and clean for the Riddick Bowe fight too. He came to fight.

Bowe doesn't get enough credit.

Agree this was a very good win for Bowe. Basically Big Daddy was just way too darn big and powerful for Cooper, which tells you just how darn strong Bowe was. I think folks often underestimate just how powerful Bowe really was. He could really really crack - he had a combination of heavy hands, snap, plus endurance and good pacing. And he could throw all of the punches, inside and out, with good leverage. Plus, the additional reach made it easier for him to land.

 

Well, I think the bigger factor in the fight is Cooper's lack of defense and openness to the overhand right, but you can see that as soon as Bowe decided to fight properly from the outside Cooper had no chance.
