Tua always had a phenomenal left hook, not just powerful but fast as well. The way he was just effortlessly chaining two and three hard lefts to Evander's dome was one of his many underrated skills.

He missed a lot of hooks here, Holyfield was told to keep his right glove up because Tyson`s best punch was the hook.

Tyson nearly hurt Holy with a lead right in the 1st round of their bout, Tua didn`t land any lead rights here! The right Mike caught Holy with would have hurt Tua badly.

At the start of their session to the half way point Tua got jabbed silly, then came on strong.

I get the feeling that Tua was going pretty heavy .. and that holy if he had to or wanted too could kick it up a few notches and really smoke tua .. Tua was banging though .. great sparring ...I just feel Holy had that extra tank of gas he coulda turned up if he had to

    Correct my friend.
The start of Holyfield's camp was so bad, he was getting beat by a lot of his sparring partners.

Holyfield actually looks pretty good in this clip with Tua, though it should be noted that in sparring, the A side which is Holyfield in this case is there to work on certain aspects of his game he planned on implementing vs Tyson.
In a real boxing match with no head gear, Holyfield would not body up and trade hooks with Tua. He would have kept Tua at the end of his jab and made him walk into shots. Lesser fighters had success doing that vs Tua.

Tua could have knocked Holyfield out in a real fight at his prime. Bert Cooper almost had Holyfield out and he was out of shape!

Holyfield took Tyson apart pretty easily, and Tyson had a larger offensive arsenal than Tua.He would have done the same to Tua.

They are both going at 60-70% there, no conclusion can realistically be made from that footage. Tua of that period sparks Tyson the fcuk out though........

Lewis in 24 rounds couldn't even drop old Holyfield once, and you're talking about Tua?

Cooper was lucky with that knockdown, but Holy beat him brutally later in that round.

Tua was outboxed by far lesser fighters than Holyfield.

That video only shows one tiny clip of a single sparring session. I'll take the word of a guy who was there to see all of the sparring for that camp over that.
