If Hopkins bests Dawson, and then bests Tarver, would you want to see him move up to heavyweight and take on Holyfield?

i doubt he would bother, at his age he probably only wants significant fights but if he was to move up to heavy, which i doubt he could do at this age , especially with pascal doing some damage to him most time he connected clean, if he did evander wuldnt be a bad place to start

bernard is making history for beating younger guys, someone older wuld be stupid

no gain, wont be any money in it, plus even a faded holyfield is far to big and strong for bhop to chance it!

Holyfield is a name, a draw, and he is high in the heavyweight rankings.

He is also one of the few fighters small enough that Hopkins could beat him. What better place to start is there?

How could you say there wont be money in it? It's Holyfield and Hopkins. Holyfield when matched properly is still a draw. And who would be a bigger draw? David Haye? David Haye and Hopkins would never fight.

Hopkins loses as much as Holyfield. They are both shot fighters.
And Holyfield has the World Boxing Federation title. For this reason alone they should make the fight because if Hopkins wins he would become heavyweight champion and it's the only fight for a title which is winnable.

I think if he were to fight James Toney for the IBF title it would be a lot less winnable and less marketable. If he fights Wlad or Vitali he gets knocked out.

So honestly it's Holyfield or Toney.

A fight with Toney would make more sense.

I don't want this fight to be made until they're a combined 100 years old. :bart

To quote Mr. Arum, it needs to "marinate".

Wouldn't be on my list of fights I want to see made the most, but I'd look forward to it and would no doubt find time on a Saturday to watch it.

Well, I think 99% of the forum would make time to watch it - but most probably wouldn't be looking forward to it.

It would be like going to the dentist. You just ****ing have to.
