For this thread, we pit a peak Holyfield with the comebacking former champion Louis-- old and far from his prime. Could Holyfield have finished Louis in the way Charles was unable to? Please discuss.
The firepower Louis would bring to this fight would bring out the fiercest in Holyfield. No way it would go 15.
If this is the Louis that fought Charles then I tend to think that Holyfield would TKO him late. While Holyfield was not a monster hitter he hit hard enough that if he was landing on you consistently you were in trouble. Ask Michael Gerard Tyson.
Against a comebacking Louis Holyfield would win. Peak Holyfield would be too much for an older, slower version of Louis and would probably stop him. Peak Louis is another matter altogether. It would be a barnburner for sure but I'd favor Louis although not by a whole lot.
I agree with the opinions expressed so far. A peak Holyfield would be too much for a comebacking Louis. A late round tko is the most likely outcome, imo.
