Think about what you’re saying when you talk about Holyfield “ conceding “. Mayweather moved up in weight something like 4-5 times. Later in his career he was fighting men who were much younger too. Are you suggesting Canelo was pre prime ? He was 42-0 and holding two world titles. Canelo was still prime. Pac was two years younger than Floyd and continued to win big fights after losing to mayweather. And those are just a few names out of the hat. Mayweather beaten more past, present and future champs than just about anyone in history and never lost

    we all think he's a bit of a ****, that's just a given.

floyd is imo one of the very greatest ever. he does not have a weak resume, he beat a lot of great fighters, and connor mcgregor.

i see the arguments for greb and langford but i can't actually watch it.

floyd and charles are the best as i see it.

Mayweather just has no likeability to him. A major ******* with a huge ego, and someone who consistently beat on his female partners since the 2000s.
Even with his skill, I can never respect him enough to put him up high.

May moved up a span of 20 lbs & fought opponents contained w/in the same weight range.

Holy moved up a span of 40-plus lbs & still frequently fought opponents who weighed-in anywhere from 20-100 lbs heavier.

    As was Holy.

Canelo was roundly criticized for being a protected fighter w/ a padded record until shortly before the May fight. His previous fight w/ Trout was considered his 1st real test vs. an elite opponent, & he didn't look as good in it as he would go on to be. He got better in subsequent fights w/ more experience & at higher weights.

You act like Evan Fields was morally above than him lmao. And consider Oldiefield was accused of beatin' his wife too plus impregnatin' multiple women dividing the pie till' he went broke at some point.
Stickin' to boxing alone, I got Floyd above but the achievements Holyfield got were pretty impressive and they aren't that far.
Also both have been busted with PEDS, Floyd indirectally but still, with Holyfield havin' way more down because that on my p4p.

Holyfield was accused of beating his wife and had to pay up for missed child support after his career had been long done, whereas Floyd was convicted and barely did any time before being allowed to continue to fight for over a decade after that. Combine that with his ego and how he acts and I just can't like him.

A head to head match up at 175 would be closer than a pfp comparison.

Mayweather by a distance. HW was and always will be a weak talent pool on the basis of population dynamics and the relative lack of skill required to be a top level heavyweight when you can rely on your weight and power more than any other division (Carnera, Wilder, Valuev, and co.). Floyd beat ODLH, Pac, Canelo, Cotto, Mosley, Hatton, Gatti, Judah, Corrales, Maidana, and Castillo. We can talk about asterisks all we want but at the end of the day Floyd boasts wins over a slew of HOFers and a number of fellow ATGs. You don’t have to like the guy to recognise his accomplishments. Holyfield, on the other hand, beat Tyson, Foreman, Holmes, Bowe, Moorer, De Leon, Qawi, Mercer, and Ruiz. Evander just gets blown outta the water by Floyd resume-wise.

Mayweather easily not even close. Better wins, more dominant wins, fought better opponents etc. Fact is lighter divisions tend to have a deeper talent pool then heavier ones have so its very rare for a heavyweight to be ranked higher P4P then a fighter in a lighter division.

    1. Moving up a span of 20 lbs is a much bigger deal for a guy who started at super feather weight than moving up 40 lbs is for a guy who started at cruiser. And Holyfield had help if we’re honest.

    2. Except Mayweather was still winning. Holyfield wasn’t.

    3. If you think Alvarez was green or “ protected” before fighting Mayweather then Riddick Bowe must have really sucked when Evander fought him. Who had he beaten ? Coetzer ? Seldon? An aged Tony Tubbs who some felt BEAT him ? And was Bowe 15 years younger than Holy like Canelo was for Mayweather ? Here’s the other obvious point - Mayweather soundly beat Alvarez and to the extent where no rematch was ever called for

I agree. The man is a despicable person and for many reasons. But he still ranks higher p4p than probably most fighters in history

You may be right about 93 Bowe except for one obvious problem. Bowe didn’t train for that fight and it showed. He was 246 lbs for that rematch. And while the fan man incident helped BOTH fighters to rest and recover, I’ve always suspected that Evander was the bigger of the two beneficiaries

Agreed. I love Evander Holyfield and I’m no fan of Mayweather. But it should be pretty clear who ranks higher. I mean is this even debatable ???

Somehow Pac is 2 years younger but Tyson is not 3 years younger. And Canelo was green as **** then while Bowe was in his prime.
