Holyfield vs Prime Holmes

    I agree with Holmes taking a decision after a tough fight against Evander. While Holyfield may be miles better than most of Holmes' best opponents, I think the stylistic issue would prove to be in Larry's favor. Holy for all his greatness didn't fight too many pure boxers and certainly none on the level of a prime Holmes. He faired best against men who brawled with him and were there to get caught up in his trading games. The fact that an ancient Holmes took Holyfield 12 rounds and held his own, despite losing the vast majority of the rounds gives me some insight on how he might do 10-13 years earlier while at his pinnacle. And I can't see Evander scoring a stoppage. Larry was too durable and Holy wasn't exactly Joe Louis in the composite punching department. Either way it would be a good fight. In a fifteen rounder I can see Larry winning it about 9 rounds to 6 or somewhere thereabouts.
