Wafer thin but I still have Holyfield winning. By one,at the very most, two rounds. We quite often say with good reasoning that the Larry Holmes-Ken Norton bout was the last great heavyweight battle. Had the Cruiserweight division not been created by 1986,and Holyfield-Qawi had still happened it would have been a heavyweight fight. So a lot of us today would be saying "There has n't been a great heavyweight fight since Dwight and Evander laced 'em up for their first fight"
It was a close fight, but Holyfield won it in my opinion. Watched again a few weeks back. Same opnion as when I watched it live over 30 yrs ago.
Me too. Watched it about a month ago. Then watched the rematch--a bout Evander is given little appreciation for. But he took Qawi apart. Hardly an easy opponent to take apart & just how many are capable of that kind of result?
