Holyfield vs Usyk @ Heavyweight

definitely Holyfield admit these boxer who do not come at him are not his favoured type to face. he said this about Usyk last week only. yes.
but Holyfield present a lot of thing Usyk has not seen also. both top class boxer

 

This is one I'd bet on, and my bet would be on Holyfield. As much as i like Usyk, and appreciate what he's brought to the sport I love, there's no way I could see him defeating Evander, with both of them at their best. Holyfield by Unanimous Decision, IMHO. Usyk's resume is not deep enough to bet on in this match up. As for Holyfield beating great Heavyweights who were past their primes, what great Heavyweight, with deep resumes, didn't do that? And a lot of the Lineal Champions that Holyfield beat weren't THAT far off their peaks. Also, Holy himself, wasn't at his absolute peak in some of those fights, including some of his winning efforts against darn good and great heavyweights..

 

My money would still be on Holyfield, albeit in a very competitive fight.

At heavyweight Usyk hadn't fought anybody at the level of Holyfield. Joshua is two leagues below Evander technically and is in different realm of existence when it comes to intangibles like heart etc.

 

I don't like picking against Holyfield, he kept surprising people.
Then again, so has the Ukrainian warrior!

Usyk is the latest PREMATURE ATG of this boxing generation.
Like Lomo and Canelo , Usyk has been given greatness without actually earning it.
Beating Anthony Joshua is nothing to give ATG status to Usyk for.
Ruiz did it much more convincingly, and probably beat him twice if he was in shape for the 2nd fight.
I said well before Joshua fought Ruiz , Joshua wasn't very good, it's just his competition is poor.
I'll go on record again in saying Usyk isn't very good, it's poor competition that's makes him look good in certain fans eyes. ( Certainly not mine, I've seen fighters in history that never won a championship, but were ranked in the top ten I'd pick to beat him,,,,, Convincingly. I'm not including any ATG in that, just contenders. )
If Holyfield is anywhere in , or close to his prime , he beats Usyk.
He'd have issues with the southpaw stance early , but he'd adjust and take Usyk apart.

 

Holyfield wins.When he is right, he is the complete package.

 

Holyfield W UD or MD. He has quicker hands, better offense, throws better combinations, more snap in his punches, just as good footwork and can match Usyk's work-rate. Usyk doesn't have any real advantage over Holyfield...

I think Uysk wins a clear decision maybe 8-4 with some good action rounds. He would take the good things Moorer did against Holyfield and improve on it.
Evander is going to struggle with that good Southpaw jab. Uysk is a better athlete than Moorer was with more spirit and determination. Holyfield would have his moments certainly but not enough of them.

 

Moorer has a better jab than Usyk. There is nothing Usyk does better than Hoyfield

 

He has a better ring IQ than Holyfield. Being a smart Southpaw is an advantage. Moorer might have had a better jab than Uysk but that where it ends for him. Uysk is better in every category.

 

Everyone rushing to pick Evander this is no easy fight for him. He was 1-3 vs southpaws at heavyweight. Losing to Moorer, Ibragimov, and Byrd. Quite convingly too. Even in the Moorer rematch he was struggling through 5 rounds til he cracked Moorer’s chin. Yes Byrd and Ibrigamov were well past prime but Evander struggled with lefties. As many heavies due except Wlad. And he even lost bad to Sanders.
Usyk has real chance with this it’s a good fight
