I think Holy may outbox Valuev. Not out of the question, even at his age and size disadvantage, as he is (was) so much better than Valuev.

As for that Valuev disgrace, I wish Vitali would fight him and knock him the **** out.

 

if holyfield had some pride he would have retired and wouldn't have been such a dirty fighter and father so many kids with so many women.

 

Valuev is a POS, he should be fighting legit fighters, I know the HW scene is shitty, which makes it all the more pathetic that he has to cherry pick.

wtf, I lost a lot of respect for Valuev for taking this fight. Not that I had much in the first place, but still. **** you, you genetic freak/caveman.

 

this could be a bad matchup for holy's health. his reflexes are slow enough now where he'll probably take a lot of those heavy slow ass jabs of valuev all night (b/c valuev won't be able to finish him and b/c valuev is sooo slow that holy will make it competitive).

 

They did. I thought this fight was not going to happen, from what Valuev's people said not long ago.

 

Whatever respect I had for Valuev is lost.

Yes, he is active. But fighting Holyfield is disgraceful.

Holy has a very slim chance in this fight. Think about it.

1) Holyfield, 4 years ago, was completely outboxed by Larry Donald, who Valuev later had a very close fight with.
2) In 2001, Holyfield had a loss and a close fight with Ruiz, who Valuev recently had two close fights with. I think it´s safe to assume Holyfield has deteriorated much more than Ruiz since then.
3) Holyfield was completely outboxed by Ibragimov, who is probably a lesser fighter than Chagaev, who Valuev had a close loss to.
4) Holy is incredibly damaged after countless wars (some against greats like Lewis, Tyson and Bowe) while Valuev has had much softer competition.

 

It's true, Holyfield is still dangerous when he faces a fighter that don't run from him (except Toney), and Valuev is just as slow as Holyfield and he has no inside fighting, but I see Holyfield having a hard time getting past that jab... 10 years ago Holyfield would have murdered Valuev, 15 years ago even worse, but I'm not sure if Holyfield is even on the level now than he was on when he went the distance with Ibragimov one year ago - old fighters have to be active and Holyfield isn't. Give that fight to James Toney, he's supposed to fight a tall fighter (Thompson) in december anyway, at least he will be able to get past Valuevs jab...

 

Looks like Valuev is back to fighting guys coming off losses as he always did, sad part is he actually loses but gets gifts. :rofl
