    Evander Holyfield says he will be fighting for glory and not money when he returns to the ring on 20 December.
    Holyfield faces Russia's WBA champion Nikolai Valuev in Zurich, Switzerland aiming to become the oldest heavyweight title-holder in history.
    And the 46-year-old claims he wants to go on and become the undisputed king of the heavyweight division.
    "My goal is to be undisputed champion and not just to win the one title," said Holyfield.
    "I think people make too much about age. I haven't fought in a year but I will be ready."

    Holyfield has not fought since losing an unanimous decision to then-WBO champion Sultan Ibragimov a year ago.
    He had his license to box in the state of New York revoked three years ago and had to undergo five hours of tests in Germany to prove he was healthy enough to fight.
    "I have taken care of myself and if I couldn't fight then I wouldn't fight," said Holyfield.
    Fellow American George Foreman was 45 when he knocked out Michael Moorer in 1994 to win the IBF and WBA crowns.
    Holyfield will be a massive underdog against Valuev, who is more than 100 pounds heavier and stands a towering 7ft tall.

    He has been plagued by financial problems in recent years but his manager Ken Sanders says the American, who has been crowned world champion on four occasions, is not fighting because he needs the money.
    "If it was not a championship fight we would not have taken it," Sanders said.

    Since 2001, he has won only five of 11 fights. He currently holds a 49-9-2 career record. Valuev, 35, who has a record of 49 wins, one defeat and 34 knockouts, currently holds the WBA belt while the Klitschko brothers currently hold four other versions of the heavyweight title. Vitali Klitschko, 37, has the WBC belt, while his 32-year-old brother Wladimir holds the IBF, WBO and IBO versions.

    No chance....too old and not heavy handed enough to do Foreman-Moorer.... He's a legend that can't let go of past glories, is possibly broke and besides that hasn't even earned the right to fight for a title

    Holyfield has deluding himself into thinking he can even win against Valuev so much so that he's already looking past him.

    The guy was thoroughly outboxed by Sultan Ibragimov!

    What the **** makes him think he could mix it with the other champions (who are all a lot better than the now deposed Ibragimov).

    As has been mentioned he doesn't have the equaliser to fall back on.

    In a way I can understand Holyfield. There's no question that he's shot to pieces, but he's still getting shots at the titles - how can you not become delusional when you're getting offered title-shots all the time (ok, two times...)? I would keep fighting too. The boxing organizations and Don King are to blame if Holyfield ends up in a wheelchair, even more than Holyfield himself.

    old news he has said this like since he lost to Lewis!

    I hope after this title shot he will not get another! Unless he deserves it by beating a contender!

    Exactly... Holyfield has been outspoken about this goal since 1999 and had never once wavered from it. I believe he honestly feels God is going to make this happen and is 100% convinced he just has to keep fighting to fulfill this plan. The only ones who can protect Holyfield are the boxing businessmen who keep using him for exposure and a dollar, as well as the buying audience who are horrified yet tune in and watch the fight.

    Any guy who gets owned by the likes of Larry Donald and Sultan Ibragimov needs to seriously avoid getting in there with the Klitschko brothers.

    Its sad because he is going to end up brain damaged. Cant he look around and see what happened to all these other guys who dont know when to quit?
