Given his money troubles he should fight regularly in lower-level fights; he should fight a few times a year against moderate competition to get him through the bills but not place too much risk to his health.

It's just too big of a risk to get in there with the klitschkos and Haye, they hit so ****ing hard it's possible he's risking his health. At this point his amazing chin would be his downfall, he'd take an insane amount of punishment.

Holyfield vs. Retirement is a great little match-up.

 

Holyfield doesn't deserve a shot at any of the major titles. He can't keep living off his name value and he can't expect boxing to fund his infidelity. As one of the guys said above, nothing to stop him from fighting regularly at a lower level, but giving him more title shots is embarassing for the sport. If he wins some eliminators, fair enough, but knocking out Francois Botha won't cut it.

If commisions says hes medically sound to fight then no1 can take away his right to earn a living, even if its to pay for his infidelity. The 'big 4' governing bodies need to shock us all with some common sense and not give this guy a high ranking, as mentioned it would be a farce and lets be honest ludicrously dangerous to put holyfield in with the highest echelon of heavyweights. Theyve done this up to now tbf but I hope they stick to it. Granted the divsion is poor but there heavyweights, any punch can ko a guy and in Holyfields case the risk is greater.

To be fair to old man Holyfield, his efforts against Valuev were not a million miles off those of Haye's.

He should have however called it a day years ago - goes without saying.
