Home town scoring ruins the HW Olympics. Cuban wins by at least 8 pts yet loses.

    Like, for example, Seoul 1988?

Jones represented the United States at the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988_Summer_Olympics"]1988 Seoul Olympic Games[/ame], where he won the silver medal.[2] He dominated his opponents, never losing a single round en route to the final. His participation in the final was met with controversy when he lost a 3–2 decision to South Korean fighter Park Si-Hun despite pummeling Park for three rounds, landing 86 punches to Park's 32.[2] Allegedly, Park himself apologized to Jones afterward and the referee told Jones that he was dumbstruck by the judge's decision.[3] One judge shortly thereafter admitted the decision was a mistake and all three judges voting against Jones were eventually suspended. An official [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOC"]IOC[/ame] investigation concluding in 1997 found that three of the judges were wined and dined by South Korean officials. This led to calls for Jones to be awarded a gold medal, but the IOC still officially stands by the decision, despite the allegations.

This is just one of the best known examples. It happens all the time. It only comes to light when one of the victim's is well known from a powerful country. Plus, the result has to be obvious to anyone who can see.

are you serious? hometown judging is clearly a problem in amateur boxing (joshua himself lost a close fight in the worlds apparently) [/quote]

Joshua got a dodgy win against Cammarelle (the 2x World Champ) and took a beating in the finals. If he had made it close, he would have been given the decision for sure, instead he got knocked around the ring in the ring in the 2nd & 3rd. I thought it was questionable then & today's decision doesn't help.

Is Cuban boxing a lot like the roommate situation? When a person jumps from place to place yet it's just bad luck that they keep having problems and need to find ANOTHER person to room with? Maybe that person is the problem and just maybe these Cuban boxers just happen to lose boxing matches? These guys sure get robbed and ducked a lot.

You can of course get more than one point in a combination.

Tyson was an excellent amateur, excellent amateurs dont make the Olympics all the time, some would say that the games are not even a true representation of who is the best all the time. the majority of top pros have excellent amateur career, its the same damn sport

Ritchie Woodhall and the other member of the British commentary have spoke their mind when they've seen something a little dodgy, but here they were annoyingly silent.

I'm not patriotic - I just wanna see good fair contests.

Fair enough it was close at 17-16, but still, after those last clean contributions from Savon how could you see it for Joshua?!

I'm really not surprised a bigot like you would take such delight in seeing the potential star of the whole games get robbed blind.
