Honest opinion from real boxing fans, is it time for David Price to call it a career?

The arrogance and delusion of Price last night after the fight (on IFL) was unbelievable in my opinion.

If you haven't seen it, he said he was injured but fought anyway, he said he did it for "business reasons" (basically money) and the British title is "always there"..

Disgusting comments in my opinion, his fans buy tickets and PPV's believing he is fit and ready to go because at the weigh in he was talking a great fight, his fans support him and have supported him through a lot bad times and then when it all goes moobs up AGAIN Price says he wasn't fit, did it for the money and just sort of shrugged his shoulders.

He conned his fans and boxing fans for a few quid and maybe even Hearn and Sky (I'm not sure if they knew) and it's unacceptable.

The reason I say conned people is because he just quit, he gave it a few rounds, couldn't put a dent in Kuzmin, started to gas and thought it was acceptable to stay seated and pocket his purse.

Then the arrogance to say "the British title is always there" like he is entitled to a shot at that is off the charts, he has lost 4 of his last 7 (stopped in all 4) and had just quit on his stool.

I will be seriously pee'd off if Hearn gives him any more chances, how many times do we have to listen to all that "last chance saloon" rubbish?

Price has been give chance after chance after chance and has failed to deliver and the defeats are just getting worse and more embarrassing, so enough if enough now, Price should be cut loose by Hearn/Sky and left to do what he wants.

If Price wants to fight on then fine, it's his health but don't put him on Sky Box Office and don't even put him on Sky Sports, he doesn't deserve it.

With majority of that 22 being built from nearly a decade ago. But on the upside, he's always quality entertainment, so he'll always be able to appease some fans. Call me a **** but there's actually something funny/enjoyable about such a big guy getting KO'd spark clean or stopped in a hilarious fashion after he completely gasses by guys he towers over.

Even the deja-vu post fight interviews are hilarious "Oi I'm gutted mate [insert delusional comments about how he's still going to become a force in the division]"

I couldn’t believe the state of him going back into his corner at the end of 4th.

Reminded me of Rocky Balboa at the end of the 11th. Stumbling, gasping, holding onto the ropes. Looked like he was on the verge of a coronary!

And what exactly is his "career"? I doubt anyone (including himself) has any illusions left about big titles, etc. he can (or rather can't) win.
But he is fun to watch and he earns (good) money boxing. So, the key factor should be his health. But if he wants to continue, why not?

He could fight on at domestic level but it probably isn't financially attractive. He has done exceptionally well to earn enough money buy a house and secure his future considering his skill set. Domestic is his level but he will suffer more knockouts for considerably less money so unless he can secure double figure+ paydays then yes he should retire from boxing and investigate other revenue streams.

He just made the transition from gatekeeper to journeyman in my opinion.
It's his decision, but as a former prospect of the year and the danger of physical damage, I'd call it a day.

The problem is that he keeps getting knocked out. This is why he should stop before he suffers any real injuries. All of his losses were via stoppage, and some were extremely brutal.

Now at 35, he might want to either stop or take a serious downgrade in opposition.

I would never let Price install my boiler after Saturday's performance. If Price wants to go on he should fight a Sexton/Cornish level opponent and see how he fares. Should stay the hell away from hard-hitting prospects.

    He could have been something.

But he didn't, so he belongs in the "could have been something" box and leave the boxing scene like the rest.

He should do what he feels he needs to do.
