Well done. Still copying and in perfect harmony with your soul mate. You two make a lovely couple. I’ll refrain from saying a couple of what atm.
For my 2 cents, my initial take was 114-113 for Usyk, but even there I conceded that I perhaps "generously" awarded Fury the 12th. By that point, however, I wasn't especially focused on scoring the round, because Fury needed at least a final round knockdown to earn a draw on my card in any case. I haven't properly scored it since, but I'm thinking 115-112 is perhaps a closer shout. Either way, as someone who confidently predicted a Fury victory, there was no doubt in my mind whatsoever that Usyk earned and deserved the victory. He showed true championship grit over the 2nd half of the contest. This content is protected
The criterion the ref used to call a KD already existed several times earlier in the round - not up to the ref arbitrarily choose when and when not to call a KD The ref held off in an attempt to save Fury from automatically being at the short end of a 10-8. I think that’s pretty obvious. However, it got to the point where the priorities changed and the ref then had to save Fury from being knocked out. The ref literally prevented Usyk from finishing Fury off. The ref’s actions during the round were ALL slanted toward Fury. To say that the ref did anything to benefit Usyk doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. Why don’t you address the fact that the ref also impeded Usyk several times while Usyk was trying to get at Fury? Or the fact that the ref literally assisted Fury part way back to his corner after the end of round 9?
Gonna be straight with you here, but you'd achieve a lot more if you adjusted your attitude. I don't mind if you hold a different opinion, it is a forum after all, but it's the way you convey that opinion that'll only illicit a negative or counterproductive response. You have a nice day now. No hard feelings.
Honestly, he didn't prevent Usyk, he gave him all the time in the world. The ref had the option to call the KD whel fury fell on the ropes hte second time but he gave Usyk extra opportunity to finish and he just couldn't. But that is the hilarious thing with Usyk fans, they cannot look at anything involving Usyk objectively, and I look at both Fury and Usyk objectively. He didn't hold off in attempt to save Fury, if he did,he would call the KD the second time Fury hit the ropes, just makes common sense. But for the sake of the argument, even if Fury DID get saved by the ref. I don't mind even alitlte bit. Because Usyk himself literally calls time out during body punches and the ref just lets him. Joshua hits him in the body, Usyk himself calls time out and Joshua just stops. So I'm sorry if I don't exactly feel Usyk got robbed even for the sake of the argument the ref did save fury
If the criterion to call a KD is fulfilled, then the ref should call it as and when - not play options or delay the call. He didn’t give Usyk every chance - he literally stepped in to stop Usyk from landing the finishing blow(s). Usyk’s chances were for as long as the round lasted - not per the ref’s arbitrary deeming. No need to dive into Usyk vs Fury fans - I’ve given my objective take. You’ve expanded into other contentions re Usyk - you clearly have a gripe re Usyk on other fronts. Of course your case in point is open for discussion (even if I disagree) - but that’s not what we’re discussing right now. Due respect but you still haven’t addressed the ref impeding Usyk or assisting Fury after the bell. They’re objective facts - so what are your thoughts on those actions?
you aren't giving your objective take. You unfrotunatly are one of that type of Usyk fan and that just isn't possible ot argue with. Yes the ref shouldn't pick and chose when to apply rules ,but he gave Usyk every chance he could so Fury ywasn't saved. I have gripes with Usyk because doing what he does when he gets hit low is just strange. He isn't complaining about being hit low, he complains about being hit low because the body attack he is getting is killing him and he tries to recuperate becasue he knows it's just a matter of time before the other guy hits him on the belt (low in usyks case) Do I think the ref helped Fury to the corenr, sure
My take is perfectly objective. You’d have to point out specifically where it isn’t objective as opposed to claiming fan bias - anyone can claim fan bias without backing it up with facts. Are you not aware that you’ve made clear your own bias against Usyk by highlighting your grievance re low blows vs body punches? That isn’t even what we’re discussing. I’ve remained on the actual bone of contention. Every chance allowed to Usyk should’ve naturally been for the whole duration of the round -which the ref cut short by arbitrarily intervening when he did. If Usyk was actually failing in his progress to set Fury up for the KO, then the ref shouldn’t have stepped in - just as he chose not to step in earlier in the round. The fact was, Fury was set up to be knocked out and the ref ran block on it after already impeding Usyk several times during the round. Thanks for your answer re the ref helping Fury to his corner - but you still didn’t address the ref actually impeding Usyk during round 9.
I scored clearly for Usyk in what was a tough fight if that makes sense? There were alot of competitive rounds that I felt Usyk shaded but can see some of those rounds debated The round that I am surprised how divided people are about is the 12th round which I thought Usyk won clearly where Usyk pursued Fury and landed more No doubt Fury also did some good work in that round but I didn't think anywhere near as much as Usyk
Even if you had Bowe winning it would've been very close my point is Bowe according to punchstats landed over 100 more punches than Holyfield. So you would assume Bowe clearly won if you're basing the whole argument on the punchstats but that's not the case. Hence punchstats are not actually always an accurate description of what happened in the fight and they're not entirely accurate because it's just a guy pushing a button. That was my point I was trying to make to the other poster.
I had Fury ahead 4-2 after 6 rounds then I had Usyk winning every round after that. The 7th round was a competitive round but I thought that was a good comeback round for Usyk after a bad spell between 4-6. Then pretty much after that I felt Usyk was in control especially when he broke Fury's nose in the 8th round ? And then had the big 9th round. So overall I had it 8-4 for Usyk I could see 7-5 for Usyk but anything more than that is a stretch for me. I don't see 6 rounds for Fury personally he only clearly won rounds between 4-6. @catchwtboxing summed up my thoughts in a nutshell a competitive fight where Usyk had to dig deep in the middle rounds but overall not that close in actual points. The thing is the people that root for Fury will use the judges scorecards as an example that it was a fight that could've gone either way. But yet these same people in other fights will complain about the judges scorecards and corruption in other fights so it's only when it suits them. I'm not saying that you're doing that you've came across as reasonable to me even if we have disagreed. But I guarantee you the two other posters who are Fury fans in this thread defending the judges scorecards in Usyk/Fury fight definitely didn't sing the same tune when Fury got a controversial draw vs Wilder.
