honestly...anymore questions about cottos chin?

Sup Mundo I remember you from your wars with Jack Prescott, but yeah for me personally Cotto stock did'nt go down to me he just ran into a machine in Margarito.

 

I wouldn't say he has a great chin but it is very good. When he has been hurt in the past it was often due to being drained at 140lbs and in the case of Judah, he simply got hit hard by a big puncher.

I don't think anyone can question his chin as ever being a weakness anymore. Margarito pounded on him and he really was stopped due to exhaustion rather than actually being hurt.

 

Was Cotto caught flush even once in that fight? Margarito was incredibly sloppy, and Cotto's constant movement made it very hard for Margarito to land cleanly.

Cotto was stopped wasn't he? Margarito came in just throwing his ugly mess and Cotto was clearly hurt multiple times. To me his chin is ****. Far worse than Clottey, Lujan, or Williams. That's for damn sure.

Yeah. Cotto got caught clean with an uppercut followed by a left hook that wobbled him in the seventh, and he never really recovered from that. He took the eighth round off, and then had sparks of his outstanding footwork and blazing handspeed again in the ninth, but then once again those uppercuts from Margarito (what a call, by Bert Sugar to say that Margo's uppercuts would be the key) turned Cotto's legs to rubber and finished the fight. Does Cotto have a weak chin? No. Not at all. Part of having a "good chin" is being able to minimize punch impacts with head and body movement so that you don't take the whole force of the punch flush. Cotto can do that marvelously.

 

His chin is definitely not **** but it's not very good either. When Margarito threw a punch with accuracy Cotto was always immediately wobbly.


Cotto's defence is very good, but not the chin.

Whilst i don't agree quite to that extreme, but Cotto barely got landed on flush until round 7, and he got hurt bad when that happened. I would describe is chin as average.

 

The defense was much better last night. Agreed on the chin part. Not so good. Whatsoever.

 

Like I said in that post though, Lujan, Williams, and Clottey were all hit many many times flush by Margarito and weren't damaged very much by individual shots. All it takes is one clean hard blow to get Cotto in trouble. That's **** where I come from.

 

Why are so many peopel on here blinded supporters, cotto was rocked by Chop Chop, Torres, Judah, Margarito, a very important point was made above Marg didn't land cleanly on Cotto's chin yet still put him into another world, Cotto always will be chinny.

 

Cotto can take a punch. If MArgo came out against PW like he did against Cotto, PW would have been stopped n the 11th

 

torres and judah are hard punchers, and as you said margarito didn't land anything clean, he made cotto tired and exhausted.
