Say what you want but everybody loves a show. Right now the only fighter carrying the sport outside of the ring media wise is Tyson Fury. Other than that it's a ghost town. No promotion at this moment is good at promoting a fight where the hype makes you want to watch.

PBC hasn't promoted any of their January fights well. Top Rank making a hundred promises without solid dates. GBP is coddling their last star on Oscar's tit. Everybody else is in the wind. Eddie Hearn is the only guy making moves and setting dates.

Mayweather was the spirit of the sport and you know it.

Boxing has always been about knocking somebody into the next world. So long as there are vicious punchers there will be publicity.

I really wish Duva would let him be free and say what he really wants. I want Kovalev to be the bad guy, he has the look. Everybody can't be good, some people have to be the villain.

Sergey Kovalev is the stereotype Americans feared during the cold war. A big ass soviet ass kicker.:bbb

Actually in real life I wouldn't consider Kovalev to have a bad guy look or to be intimidating.

Besides his size, he's a pretty big guy, I don't think he looks very scary. He looks like he drives 18 wheelers.

I agree....in fact I did a thread on that very subject about a year and a half ago when I first started posting. This thread should have served as a harbinger for things to come with my prospect threads.

Relax it's not all about hardcore fans. Casual need something to hold on too beside skills. Hype pays the bills and the skills are displayed in between the hype. I love boxing hence why at 11:40 pm PST at work I'm on a boxing forum.

Don't be so fast to say he won't. Joshua is not gun shy and Fury can throw the hands when he has to. I like the idea of that fight, Fury has done the best thing for that division in breaking up the belts.
I thought that he would be next to collect all 7 dragon ***** but the IBF flaked out, and the IBO is a K2 belt.
