Honestly, if GGG ever plans on fighting Ward, he should do it now.

I also agree most people think GGG wins because of his power. I don't think he has 1 punch power, but his accuracy and the way he strings combos together, there aren't too many fighters in the world who can do that. GGG also has really great footwork that puts him in great position for his KO's.

However I think Ward has great footwork himself and I think he would know how to smother GGG and get him out of position so any damage he takes is minimal.

With regards to timing, I think this is as popular as the fight will ever get. I agree with the TS, this is probably GGG best chance to defeat Ward because of Ward's inactivity and injuries. GGG is 32 and could possibly go the way of Martinez, be hot for a a couple of years, bit fizz out at the end. There is nearly no competition at 160 right now, he might end up like Ward anyways, champ with no one to fight. Ward is 30 and might move on to 175 when he can't make 168 anymore. Plus as far as legacy is concerned they are both in their primes and we definitely don't want a Pac vs Mayweather situation on our hands.

Fighting Ward would be the dumbest move for GGG now, rivaling Pavlik's decision to fight Hopkins. Why fight a bigger, stronger fighter who has campaigned at a higher weight division than yourself for his entire career? Ward's boxing skills are superb as are Triple Gs but Ward is just a much bigger guy. He campaigned successfully as a light heavyweight as a youngster and won Olympic gold. Watch him in a fancy suit as a color man breaking down fights next to Kellerman. Even in a business suit the guy looks huge and makes Kellerman look like Pee Wee Herman. No. Triple G needs to conquer and dominate the historic middleweight division as did Marvelous Marvin Hagler before him. He is a natural middleweight as was the great Hagler and even has the same down to earth, working man's personality that so endeared and connected Hagler to the average paying fan. GGG is doing everything right, why spoil it?
