I like watching Wladimir for many reasons, most of which have already been covered by others. I started watching him pre-Sanders and absolutely loved the way he destroyed people. Even now, I know he can knock anybody out at anytime.

However, I think now, even more than before, the reason many people watch and enjoy his fights is for bigger reasons still. When you watch Wladimir Klitschko, you are watching the single best boxer in the entire world in a head to head sense. There is no one in the world you can put into the ring with him in a boxing match and expect him to lose. Now of course people will say someone in a lower weight class is better in a "pound for pound" sense, but put them into the ring with Wladimir and they will most certainly lose. The closest parallel I can come up with in other sports is the Super Bowl or other championship game. You may not get the single best/most exciting game of the NFL playoffs in the Super Bowl, but everyone watches because it is for THE championship. Every Wladimir fight is like the Super Bowl. Now I have to respect the thread starter's opinion because for example, I find soccer to be so boring that I would not watch the World Cup unless you held a gun to my head, but I don't go around asking people why they watch it.

First of all, I'm a fighter, so I appreciate the textbook perfection of his technique, footwork, etc...

Second, I love having a champion who is educated, classy and not a loudmouth douchebag.

Third, I respect that after he was derailed that, instead of quitting or making excuses, he retooled his shop, got a new trainer and rededicated himself....and went on to be the most dominant HW we've seen in a LONG TIME.

Fourth, he's incredible dedicated to the sport, trains all year and takes his job seriously. Tyson, Lennox..both of those guys were prone to get lazy and underestimate opponents. Wlad comes to bring it in every fight. Always fit, always ready to rock.

Fifth, good for the sport because of all the above.

Incredible athleticism for a man his size, intelligent in the ring, uses his natural advantages very well. Still not a big fan though, would much rather watch Vitali, who I think is the better fighter out of the two.

Its the force he can put behind his punches and the precision and the footwork avoiding the punches and looping a left hook with a jab and then the straight right.

I wish he would throw more hooks and use more head movement though. just a tiny bit of weaving against haye and it would have been a knockout with a counter right hand

What weight would you put the superheavies at though, also i actually think Wlad could easily make 220.
Before people start laughing at me, people at lower weights routinely cut 15lb.
Wlad actually bulksup during training camp and still can come in under 240lb (he was 242 AFTER a big lunch)

So what would heavyweight be ... 210 limit ?
In shape super heavies could transition, also the ONLY reason people call out for it is because of how dominant the K-bros are (people like to forget Lennox was a super heavy as well)

Im off topic a little but **** it....:p

I remember around like 06 and '07, if Vitali was brought up, everybody would write Training Camp KO1 Vitali. There was some suspense (in hindsight, unwarranted) if he would make it to his comeback fight.

NOW, you see a lot of folks say he's better than Wlad and only held in very high regards. Impressive too.:yep

No, I'm actually a fan of boxing and would like boxing to stick around as a sport. If you support rapists, women beaters, criminals, cheaters, etc, that's your perogative. Personally, I am a fan of the Wayne Gretzkys, Michael Jordans and Cal Ripkens of the sports world. I guess you prefer the Floyd Mayweathers, Pete Roses, and Theo Fleurys of the world.

I dont have any posters or newspaper clippings or old fight videos of the man. I just appreciate his integrity and dedication to his sport.

Now go beat up your girlfriend and be like your heros

I dont support ****** women beaters etc... However I wont use it as an excuse to hate on a fighter if I like his style, its okay to like a fighters style and talent with out having to like that man as a person....

well, the question was 'what makes you a fan'. I simply stated why im a fan of the man. I like his fighting style. I like seeing knockouts and i like seeing displays of intelligence in the ring. If he was an ******* though, it would probably distort and skew my image of him. But then again, I really liked Mike Tyson and Andrew Golota.
