Honestly: Why did Fury never get the respect and credit for beating Klitschko?

This is something I don't understand, especially in the UK, where the fans are always behind their fighters.

Because when Bruno beat Oliver mcCall he did it with hard punches...
TF only threw a couple of punches , WK didn,t do anything...

It was mainly the media that didn't give him his deserved respect.

He beat the dominant Super Champ in his back yard against all the odds. It was an incredible performance. He should have become a super star.

He is anti-establishment. He is an authentic rebel. He is nobodies yes man. The plain truth is very powerful but in speaking it you make alot of equally powerful enemies.

Because he ducked 2 consecutive rematches, left the belts that Wlad has painstakingly collected to go around to arguably the most undeserving contenders ever (Martin would have never gotten the belt if Wlad won), tried to mask Ped use with cocaine abuse, and last but not least, put on the laziest performance of all time against a 40 yr old man that couldn't throw a punch to save his life.

Ali didn't get credit early in his career either. Fury could have gained it if he hadn't gone crazy.

As it stands, if he somehow comes back after the dust has settled on the division, regains his old form, and beats the guy(s) who've come out on top, it would be one of boxings great achievements and he'd get his credit. I just suspect he's done too much damage to his body to accomplish that. Too bad, because I do think he's probably the most talented hw of his generation.

He did get some credit but honestly that fight felt like a fluke. He should have tried hard to make the rematch.

    Excellent summary.

Lost a lot of respect for Fury after the way he behaved after the fight.

He didn't warm himself to the media by saying how he believes a woman's job is in the kitchen and Jews are devil worshippers.

Then it has come out he is a roid cheat and coke addict, I find it bewildering that there are people who actually look up to him.

In retrospect his victory over Wlad should be count as void considering him and his acne ridden cousin were roiding up the entire time.

Probably because throwing about 10 punches a round was a shitty way to win.

    That fight sucked.

Ducking two rematches and ballooning up to 375 lbs doesn't exactly help Fury's case.
