    ...titleholder, like Casamayor or Campbell?

Yes I would like to see him fight Campbell for the unified belts & would be proud of him. If he inherits a vacant title & is then paraded as a real world champion I will be bitterly annoyed.

Yes.. cos if he wins the title in record time, all those haters would **** off and leave him alone.

Plus, i think he's earn the respect he deserves, because of all this over hyping is just making him look bad at the moment.

This is not a public vote, so everyone can vote as they truly feel, even if they're not proud of how they feel, for example.

    Is this thread inappropriate/scandalous?

Perhaps, but...there seems to be a lot of people that want to see Khan fail...:think

Although beating a fighter of that calibre would be impressive, what I would not be happy about is how he "earned" the shot. If beating somebody like Martin Kristjansen puts you in line for a shot at one of the top guys, then Khan should surely be way back in the queue.
Would Jon Thaxton get a title shot if he were to fight and beat Kristjansen? No, instead he gets to be taken apart by the best lightweight in Europe.
Is it just me or does something really stink about all of this?

I think you have misunderstood the question.

No this thread is fine. I think a lot of people are wondering what kind of title Khan will win & the respect bestowed upon him will be dependent on the legitimacy of that. I must confess a part of me wants to see Khan fail because it would keep Warren quiet for a while & hopefully lessons would finally be learnt about hyping unproven fighters whilst other good contenders fall by the wayside.

I used to llike Khan, he seemed confident and I have always liked the fact that he isnt afraid to let his hands go, but recently he comes across as an arrogant ***** who doesnt back up his big talk. (The only saving grace he has is that he is with Warren and there is a big chance he is not being allowed fights he himself would take)

But until he says differently I really want him to get KTFO.

Khan is hardly unique in this. Katsidis got a shot at the linear champion by beating Earl and Amonsot (and not that impressively). If Khan beats a legitimate champion then people will rightly not care one jot about how he got there. Though his resume is fairly impressive for a fighter of his age and development.

if he fought either of these two i'd support him as a british fighter, and the hype would be legitimized.

if he won a title by any other means (like inheriting it after fighting less-than-world-class opposition) i wouldn't regard him as a champion in the same way i never regarded macca as a champion.

Has to be said, Naz won by beating Steve Robinson.

I reckon Amir would have to beat somebody better to get the title.

Yeah good point... The lightweight division is very strong... When Naz took the title of former Journeyman Robinson it can be argued Robinson was only in the lower regions of the top ten. His title opposition was strictly domestic. The other champs at the time were I think WBC Luisito Espinosa (puncher but vulnerable), Wilfredo Vasquez (puncher but vulnerable) and Tom Johnson (non puncher and pretty suspect) all of them were veterans but in a divison with very little talent. In hindsight Barrera and Morales would have cleaned up had they moved up before Naz... Naz for all his talent was the benficiery of a very poor era in the featherweight division.

Yes, I would be happy. If he does it legitimately against one of those guys only a hater could begrudge his success.

After a long hard think... I just hope he gets exposed. I can not stand the kid. My opinion is not based on his ability or his management or his choice of fights and I can not claim to say he is not a very very talented boxer but I just hate him. Amir Khan is a arrogant **** sucking wanker.
