The third time I'm picking against Hooker. The Perez fight was the only fight I've seen of Hooker prior to Flanagan, but I think Ramirez's work rate will be too much. Unlike Saucedo who is literally a walking punching bag, Ramirez has "okay" defense. He gets hit a lot, but not as much as Saucedo and his overall skill set is just better. Ramirez looked utter dog **** in his previous fight, but I'm hoping that was just a bad night at the office, could be Robert Garica honestly, maybe he was better off with Roach.
It wasn't just a bad night at he office, Zepeda is a brilliant fighter, that I've long been a fan of, more so than I was of Ramirez when I did my thread on him, I came this close to picking Zepeda, and fully believed he could pull it off, but I knew if it went to the cards, Ramirez would win, so I played it safe. I picked Hooker for the upset over Flanagan, stupidly went against my gut and picked Saucedo (walking punching bag indeed), but this time I'm going with my head and gut, Ramirez is quite adept at this point facing rangy fighters, and fairly heavy handed ones like Zepeda, he's got a damn good chin, and he's quite unorthodox, capable of landing shots from awkward angles that Maurice can't adequately prepare for or defend against. So I think Ramirez eventually catches him, puts him down or at the very least hurts him, which will make Hooker apprehensive, and cause him to get outwork the rest of the match, and lose on points.
I see this fight is garnering is a lot of inerest!Cracking fight btw i think ramirez will stop hooker late
I've picked against Hooker too many times and he's proven me wrong. I'm rolling with him this time out. I also think it'd be better for the division if he won. Mikey's gone on record saying he'll never fight Ramirez, and Hooker is also a DAZN fighter- him unifying makes it way more likely we'd see a total unification fight between him and the WBSS winner.
How do you think Hooker wins this one? Uses his length and moves? I don't think he's elusive or crafty enough to score enough points to outpoint a volume puncher like Ramirez. Only way I see him winning is if he hurts Ramirez.
It all boils down to the jab for me. Hooker's got to throw it well with enough pop to disrupt Ramirez's offense before he can set and throw. I agree that his movement isn't good enough to evade Ramirez for twelve, so his accuracy off the back foot will have to compensate. He'll need to land the more eye catching shots. Should be a pretty good styles clash even if he falls short.
Ramirez is going to win. i have no doubt about that. Im a professional boxing gambler and that’s my take.
I just don't rate hooker, I would love to hear your thoughts on who you would put money on for the pac vs thurman fight mate
I went back and forth with this matchup but at the end, I’m leaning towards Thurman. My heart says Pacman but my brain says otherwise. Bet on Thurman
