    I watched every replay with me eyes pried open. :yep

    My only vcash stake in this fight was Less than full 12...DQ, Torres TKO1, or Holt TKO1 all satisfy that. My only interest in arguing this is clearing up the issue (or non-issue) of the headbutt (which clearly had some effect, but IMO more of a quick dramatic physical reaction than anything substantial) as a mitigating factor in the KO. It's a visually confusing scenario, and I don't blame anyone for thinking the headbutt was a bigger deal than it was upon a superficial viewing. What irks me is people making up their minds without actually reviewing the slow-motion replays and weighing the impact of the clean body hook (and general knowledge about their damage, and how reactions to it can be slow) vs. the impact of the headbutt. People just don't even seem open to consider the idea that the butt didn't have him out on his feet once they've isolated it visually and locked themselves into believing that was it.

    I don't understand why Torres didn't protect his head after the headbutt? Most people after they get headbutted keep there hands up. Thats why I think Torres was hurt from the body because he still kept his hands low even after the headbutt.

    The first two quotes were used by one member. All I noticed in this thread was you repeatedly refuting member after member. And I approached this thread with an objective view of the situation and the first thing I noticed was your immaturity. And please don't try to justify it with "he said it first". That kind of stuff is meant for the 3rd grade.

    Just read through some of your posts and try to defend it without the "nuh-uh, they started it" argument. Completely childish.

    body shots are the thing that crucifies you the most in boxing. you cn get koed straight or knockdown by a jab. but a light tap at the right time to your ribs can make you feel like you have lost your lungs and many other vital organs.

    look at katsidis casamyor. katsidis only moment to stopping casa was that left uppercut to the chest which doubled up joel.

    same with amir khan and gomez. gomez lands a left hook and everything inside gets milkshaked

    If I was overly harsh with anyone I apologize. I just can't stand to see misinformation disseminated by a stampeding herd mentality. All it takes is one person saying "HEADBUTT! DQ! NC! CONTROVERSY!" and all of a sudden everyone's name is Eagle Eye..."Hey, I spotted the headbutt, too! It was the butt! Case closed!" - without measuring the actual impact of the butt, and completely ignoring the thudding body shot that preceded it.

    So I'm not that patient with situations quickly blowing out of control. Call it a character flaw if you want. :conf My only interest is keeping things in perspective, if that process isn't pretty, I'm willing to take the heat for it, as long as I'm able to get the word out there. I wouldn't have to have a messiah complex in the first place if I weren't so damned astute. :bart :yep

    Hey hey hey...who are you getting me mixed up with? :think I may get passionate in the heat of the moment but I certainly am not infallible and don't think I've ever masqueraded as such (though if you don't have evidence to dissuade me from a carefully evaluated position, best of luck moving that mountain :lol:).

    Hell, I confidently picked Mosley over Cotto and have never tried to hide that. :yep

    I don't understand why Torres didn't kept his hand up after the headbutt? Thats why I think the body shot hurt him by Torres still keeping his hand low to block his body.

    Yes, and a headbutt does way more damage than a body punch. :patsch

    Think about what you're suggesting:

    Getting hit in the side with a 12oz glove does more damage that getting hit in the head with a blunt object (head butt).

    :lol::lol:

    That particular headbutt did more damage than that particular body shot? You know this for a fact? And you're 100% positive you're not just getting carried away with the visual effect of him reeling backward directly following the butt (despite never having begun to raise his hands after the body shot, and indeed not beginning to raise them at all before the right landed)? :think
